Conference Tours

Free for conference participants.

The aim of our conference tours is to provide opportunity for informal networking, possibly creating partnership among the conference participants.

First conference tour: Windsor Castle
Wednesday, May 22

The bus leaves at 10.00 from the conference venue to Windsor. Here you can see Windsor Castle, the residence of The Queen. The original castle was built in the 11th century by William the Conqueror.

In the castle area you should not omit St George's Chapel, one of the most beautiful ecclesiastical buildings in England and the burial place of 10 monarchs.

The tour is non-guided, but accompanied by the IISES team.

Lunch and entrance fees are not included.

We will be back at 5PM. The time of return is approximate and cannot be guaranteed.

Participants who registered for this conference tour will receive a tour voucher at the registration desk. 

Children under six years are not allowed on the tour.

Second conference tour: Cambridge
Friday, May 24

The bus leaves at 9.00 from the conference venue to Cambridge, a university town.

The University of Cambridge, founded in the 12th century, is still one of the most prestigious universities in the world.
Cambridge has high concentration of preserved medieval buildings. Most of them are centered around Cambridge University's 31 colleges. The first of these schools were established in the 12th century. 

Among main sights a must-see is the gothic King's College Chapel.  St. Mary the Great university church with a beautiful interior was built in the 15th century. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, generally known as The Round Church, built in 1131, is one of only four Norman round churches left in England.

The tour is non-guided, but accompanied by the IISES team.
