Conference tour to Pisa

Free for conference participants.

The aim of our conference tours is to provide opportunity for informal networking, possibly creating partnership among the conference participants.

The bus leaves at 9.00 from the conference venue.

In Pisa we visit Campo dei Miracoli (Field of Miracles). It holds the main attractions of Pisa - the Leaning Tower, Duomo, Baptistery and Campo Santo.

Leaning Tower is the cathedralĀ“s bell tower. Its construction started in 1173 but wasn't finished until the fourteenth century. The tower started leaning soon afterwards due to subsidence of the ground underneath its base. Duomo from the 11th century contains a huge apse mosaic and a fine pulpit by Giovanni Pisano. Baptistery, a round white-marble building, was constructed in 12th century. Campo Santo, the old cemetery for noble citizens of Pisa, contains a collection of ancient Roman sarcophagi.

You will have time for lunch in Pisa. Lunch and entrance fees are not included.
We will be back in the conference venue at about 17.00. The time of return is approximate and cannot be guaranteed.

Participants who registered for the social program will receive a tour voucher at the registration desk. The vouchers are non-transferable.
