Gripsholm Castle is also renowned internationally for its unique collection of portraits.
The east section of the island on which Gripsholm Castle is built has a number of small gardens.

Second conference tour: Sigtuna and Uppsala
Thursday, June 28

The bus leaves at 9.00 from the conference venue.

From Sigtuna we continue our trip to Uppsala, a famous university town. Uppsala´s main sight is the Gothic Cathedral dating back to the 13th century, the tallest one in the Nordic countries. During the renovation work many of the medieval frescoes were uncovered and restored.

We also stop in Gamla Uppsala (Old Uppsala), where you can see the Royal mounds - the three grassy tombs of the old kings, dated to the 5th and 6th centuries.
