The aim of our conference tours is to provide opportunity for informal networking, possibly creating partnership among the conference participants.

First conference tour: Szentendre
Wednesday, June 6

The bus leaves at 12.00 from the conference venue.

Szentendre ("St. Andrew") is a picturesque village with historical narrow coblesome streets and little squares, where you can see how  the cityscape of Serbian, Dalmatian, Slovakian and Greek settlers was formed after expulsion of the Turks army in the 17th century.
On the outskirt of the village there is the largest open-air museum in Hungary which shows the authentic Hungarian village life - traditional rural architecture, peasant homes from the 18-20th centuries, stone windmills, antique furniture and folk art.

Lunch and entrance fees are not included.

We will be back at around 6PM. The time of return is approximate and cannot be guaranteed.

Participants who registered for this conference tour will receive a tour voucher at the registration desk.

Children under six years are not allowed on the tour.

Second conference tour: Gyor and Pannonhalma Abbey
Friday, June 8

The bus leaves at 9.00 from the conference venue.

Our first stop will be the Pannonhalma Archabbey.  It is situated in lovely forest with a botanic garden and boasts fine views from its hilltop site. Founded in 996, it is an active Benedictine monastery and World Heritage Site.  It includes a 13th-century Gothic church with Baroque additions and a beautiful library.

From Pannonhalma we continue our tour to the baroque city of Gyor. You can admire the Bishop's Cathedral and Bishop's Palace. Both buildings are protected by a wall, which dates back to Roman times.
Széchenyi tér, Győr's main square is lined with Baroque buildings  - the Benedictine church and monastery built by the Jesuits in 1667.
You will have time for lunch in Gyor.
