Abstract:

The objective of this research is to carry out an analysis of management control and its impact on the competitiveness of mining companies in the northern macro zone of Chile and to evaluate the challenges involved in integrating this aspect into their programs. Based on the theory, a causal model with eleven hypotheses was proposed. Information was collected through a survey that, when analyzed with structural equations through the partial least squares method, reduced the hypotheses to six. The results show that competitiveness is a consequence of the positive, direct and indirect influence of sustainable productivity, where its variance is explained by 31.3%. It is concluded that the use of management control constitutes a fundamental element for decision making and the achievement of strategic results in the investigated mining companies
