Economists held different views. Some argue that individual bank cannot multiply credit. Some view individual bank can multiply credit if the borrowers purchase with the borrowed money and, then, the sellers deposit successively the same money in the same bank, the money can be multiplied to the extent of credit divided by reserve ratio times. Some others argue that banks don?t need deposit at all; it can create money when it gives loan and deposit it in the borrower?s account. They are of the view that ?The money supply is created as ?fairy dust? produced by the banks individually, ?out of thin air?. (Werner 2014, P1). From the critical review of these theories, some important issues come to the surface. First, Money cannot be multiplied, second, money cannot be created out of thin air, third, what is increased is only the IOUs from the banks to their customers and from the customers to their banks, fourth, as banks are bound to keep certain percent of their reserve (deposit) in the custody of the central bank, in every successive deposit the quantity of money reduces and after the final deposit and lending all money will be placed at the custody of the central bank. No money will be there in the economy to repay the loan and its interest. Repeated depositing and lending of same money, thus, reduces the money available for economic activities. Specifically, the study aimed to address the following research questions: (1) What are the characteristics of the texts produced by Kuwaiti undergraduate students in terms of cohesion and quality? (2) Is there a relationship between cohesive devices? measures and text evaluation scores? The main objective of the researcher was to concentrate on dealing with the macro level cohesive devices in students? descriptive English writing. The participants in this study were 128 Kuwaiti college students of English in the first and second year of study at Kuwait University, College of Arts. A mixed methods design of both qualitative and quantitative research methodology was utilized to analyze the participants? written texts. In addition, the framework of Halliday and Hasan?s (1976) theory of cohesion was used to analyze the written products of the participants. The findings revealed that there was a notable difference in the students? use of cohesive devices in terms of frequency. Students overused certain types of cohesive devices (reference, conjunction, and lexical) while neglecting to use the others (substitution and ellipsis). The analysis also revealed that the correlation coefficient between writing scores and reference cohesive device is positive and statistically significant, since only the reference cohesive device was highly correlated with score. Design and Methods: Qualitative research with a purposive sample of young mothers with a repeat pregnancy (n = 10), using semi-structured interviews to elicit rich qualitative data, using content and thematic analysis were conducted. Research ethic was approved by human subjects institutional review board, informed consent was obtained in all key informants. Results: The eight of the young mothers indicated that their repeat pregnancies were unintended, whereas they did not want an abortion. Rest of them stated that it was an intentional situation because of their new partner want to have a baby. An important finding in this study was that although the young mothers did not intend to get pregnant, they likewise did not intend to prevent having a second child. Most of them spoke that ?I was on the pill but often forget to take it? - a ?missed? pill was showed in common issue of young mothers with repeat pregnancy. In terms of decision making about sexual activity ? mothers addressed that the sexual activity is the impulsive behavior in their spousal life and that it lack concern about the consequences. Additionally, the lack of the ownership of the responsibility for birth control among their partners was revealed, as ?he never use condoms?never have it?. Clinical Implications: Nurses may use these data to understand better the young mothers in terms of prevention or postponement a repeat pregnancy in the adolescent ages, as well as to design an implementation or provide access to a birth control information base on the unique needs, which including their partner in order to taking a crucial role in delaying repeat pregnancy and preventing the negative health consequences in young mothers. Having as benchmark the model of Smets and Wouters (2003, 2007,2011), and Gali (1999). The thesis describes how the model works, how it is estimated, and how it is used for monetary policy analysis. The parameters of the New Keynesian DSGE model are calibrated in such a way that selected theoretical moments given by the model match as closely as possible those observed in the data. One way of achieving this, is by minimizing some distance function between the theoretical and empirical moments of interest. The output of the simulator is posterior estimates of The New Keynesian DSGE models, are summarized and compared to results in the existing literature. Those who have an excess of fund and lack of fund come together in these markets. Factors such as increasing transaction volume, development of technology, and free economies in financial markets that have intermediary function made financial institutions dependent each other and raised the risk in these markets. These risks firstly affected banks, then dispersed towards other sectors and finally created a full-scale crisis. Financial transaction tax offered prelusively by Keynes in 1970?s but not considered enough, came up in 2007 together with economic crisis most especially in USA (which has strong financial markets )as a political tool, and also in other developed and developing countries. A financial transaction tax is a political tool offered to struggle with the financial crisis and to strengthen the financial systems. The main purpose of this tax (which is also known as Tobin tax) is to spread capital movements into long-term. Thus, it is possible to preclude both speculative movements and an unsteady situation in financial markets by reducing excess profit obtained in the short-run. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of a financial transactions tax on Turkey that is planned to be implemented globally by revealing both positive and negative aspects of it. The researcher has used the quasi-experimental method on a study sample of (20 ) students. The results showed that students performed better in the pre-exam on the realistic questions, while they faced a problem in the discretionary and analytical questions, however, after teaching them in the post- exam the responses were closer to the correctness in the discretionary questions, and the answers were correct in analytical questions. The study recommended the need to work on the use of the skill of asking questions, because it helps the teacher and student together in developing a student's ability of thinking, answering the questions clearly, and working on implementing this skill .It also help students understand the lessons, memorizing them and retrieve them easily. In addition, there is a need for diversification in the questions and in the times of the classes, in order to enable the student to continue to listen to the teacher during the class. One hundred and twenty nine accountancy students (43 teams) participated in a board game in which one out of three teams won. Findings show that intra-group relationship influences team performance via the mediation of team-efficacy. We also found that positive intra-group relationship was connected to internal locus of causality while negative relationship was linked to external factors, suggesting on group-serving bias. This pattern was differentiated between the two groups in relation to performance. The winning team attributed higher earning capital to internal causes and a lower amount to external factors. This pattern was reversed in the losing team; higher amount of capital was attributed to external reasons, while lower amount was attributed to internal causes. We explained this pattern by differences in team-efficacy and intra-group relationship. A libertarian perspective Abstract: Libertarians see a minimalist role for the state at best. That role should be limited to protecting liberty, or the ability of individuals to pursue economic opportunity. In doing so, the state provides the means for individuals to resolve contract disputes that inevitably result when one individual?s claim or pursuits conflict with another. To fulfill this role of administering justice, the state needs a revenue source. Traditionally, liberal democracies have allowed income tax to evolve as the prime source of revenue. This is difficult for libertarians, who see income tax as the theft of individual property by the state. Consumption tax is another option for financing the state, but it has been criticized as being regressive, and therefore unfair in its application. This paper challenges that assumption and makes the case that consumption tax, when applied as a retail sales tax at the point of sale, has inherent characteristics that make it progressive. As such, it overcomes the criticisms that libertarians find with income tax and make it a more acceptable alternative revenue source for financing the limited role of the state. This study focuses on the first year first semester in the Japanese university.Though the world is becoming more and more internationalized, there are a large number of Japanese people who find it hard to speak English. Also at the dispensing pharmacies, there are a lot of pharmacists who have anxiety when they speak English to patients from abroad. The author is planning to investigate English education for pharmacy students in order for future pharmacists to communicate successfully with the growing number of foreigners entering Japan. In Japan, studies of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) have discussed what to teach for pharmacy students in English classes. ESP studies encourage teachers to improve students? English reading comprehension, and to provide students with knowledge regarding technical terms. However, it is true that many students don?t have positive attitude to learn English. Therefore, the author tries to seek its background and solution. The results of the questionnaire show that the students had little opportunity to learn pronunciation when they were in junior and senior high school. This is one of the reasons why they hesitate to speak English. The author makes new lesson plans for students on the first year first semester. These lesson plans focus on English pronunciation and presentation, giving students many opportunities for their utterance.According to the questionnaire after the first semester, students recognize that these lessons help them to overcome their hesitation to speak English. The results also indicate that this content and method can increase students? positive attitude toward improving their English abilities.Reference:1. Consequently, to maximize loyalty and competitiveness in an increasingly competitive market it is essential to understand the distinctions characterizing the customers who choose shopping centers from those who opt for shopping centers. To analyse this differentiation, I use the log-linear causal models but, since these have not a complete causal theory, I use a new causal analysis to remedy this problem (Gheno, 2016). Starting from a complex model, I come to a simpler model to understand the different behaviors of the two types of customers. The data analysis shows that shopping centers customers are more driven by the emotions than the more rational and concrete ones who choose shopping centers. Research findings indicate the growth of the informal sector at the expense of the formal sector, but with low productivity, low wages and virtually no job security. And in the formal sector, data indicates rising conflict often laced with brutal violence. While organizations in the formal sector wait for labour reforms towards greater labour market flexibility that would lead to greater labour mobility and higher productivity and employment in the formal manufacturing sector, they could undertake a paradigm shift in their IR strategy. Such a paradigm shift in IR strategy would not just obviate many of the ills besetting the industrial relations scenario, but provide a competitive advantage. Based on a year-long work in a steel tube manufacturing company in western India, this paper distils the architecture of a paradigm shift in IR strategy for organizational turnaround. Abstract: The GDP growth structure of India is dominated by the growth in service sector. The Baumol?s theory predicts that the primary mover sector behind this growth pattern should have the highest productivity. The sector with highest productivity will pay highest wages. Hence, it will attract labour from low productivity sector; resulting in decline of the low productivity sectors. To prevent the labours to shift the job, the low productivity sector can pay higher wages, but then price of the commodities has to be increased. Unless these sector?s demand is very little sensitive to price increase, the wage increase will not make these low productive sectors sustainable. This paper argues that Baumol?s theory is inadequate to explain sectoral structure of the Indian growth. It is primarily because of domination of traditional service sector, like trade, transport etc in service sector growth, little linkages between wages and productivity and disintegrated labour market causing weak wage transmission mechanism across the sectors. Gender Role Identity?s Effect on Self-Gifting Abstract: Self-gift giving behavior has become a phenomenon that spreads day by day. This concept of consumption behavior differs from consumption in others because of emotional dimensions are predominant in the existence of this new consumption conception. The purpose of this study is to reveal the effects of sex and gender identity roles on self-gift giving behavior of people. Just as it is there may be events or situations that lead to person to purchase a gift for himself/herself, sex groups of person or gender identity may also be effective in the consumption. Self-gift giving behavior and the main differences related to the subject between gender identity groups (masculinity, femininity, androgyny and neutrality) are other factors analyzed in this article as well. The purpose of incorporating sex and gender identity concepts into the subject is to be able to explain better what the main reason behind the motivation that drives the person to buy a gift for him or herself is. In this context, a questionnaire is applied to respondents. In the content of the questionnaire, three different Likert type scales are considered to measure characteristics of people, emotions and self-gift giving situations. By doing so, it is aimed to determine the significant factors among the distinction between sex and gender identity that affects self-gift giving. The physical aspect of water management is associated to water resources engineering, which is mainly founded in fluid mechanics. We coupled computer fluid dynamics (CFD) and flipped classroom practices to improve the learning and teaching processes of an undergraduate course focused on the experimental aspect of fluid mechanics in Peru, an upper-middle-income economy. Under the light of our results, we believe that such combined application also results on a viable alternative for universities that may face limitations on implementing a physical fluid mechanics laboratory, and encourages the formation of cooperative clusters of academic institutions around high-performing ones, to create common-pool fluid mechanics sources of educational information. Insufficient and defective tax revenue forecasts can lead to budget problems as well as budget interdependencies in multilevel systems. The determination of budget revenues amount, which can actually be carried out, needs to estimate the forecast of tax revenues reasonably and accurately. Adequacy and feasibility of relevant indicators depend on the assessment of the state, trends and forecasting of economic and social development, stability and progressiveness of the current legislation, the forms and methods of tax mobilization, the level of fiscal culture and other factors. The role of tax revenue forecasting is enhanced significantly. Fiscal equalization schemes, grant systems and bailout rules have to take into account in the case of problems with the accuracy of tax revenue forecasts. If tax revenues forecasts in the medium-term are upward biased, the institutional setting can be an explanation for forecasts errors (Breuer 2014). However, over-optimistic as well as under-optimistic forecasts influence budgeting and budget targets. The present paper deals with the conditions and institutional frameworks for accuracy of tax revenue forecasts, especially in a medium-income and a high-income country. First, we present a literature review on tax revenue forecast and the importance of institutional performance for accurate tax revenue forecasts. Thereby, empirical studies to explain forecasts errors will be analyzed. In a comparison of two countries, the second session describes the institutional setting for tax revenue forecasts and the procedures in the Ukraine and Germany and shows the methods, actors and institutional mechanisms in these different multilevel systems. The analysis focusses on the degree of decentralization in both countries and legal equalization schemes. We show some determinants of tax revenue forecast errors and discuss the impacts and consequences for budgetary planning and budget managing in multilevel systems. Our findings point out the importance of fiscal governance in multilevel systems if tax revenue forecasts are influenced by many determinants in specific ways that makes revenue forecast difficult. Multilevel fiscal governance is required to solve problems in tax revenue forecasts and budgeting in decentralized systems. Additionally, the knowledge on taxpayer´s behavior (households, employees, consumer, firms) under conditions of globalization of taxation is underestimated at the present, but is needed for the improvement of public budget managing processes. Setting up a student journal to facilitate community cohesion. Abstract: This pilot project sought to identify whether creating a community through setting up a student-run academic journal would increase self-efficacy and academic achievement. The project was set up in a small university campus of less than 2000 students, with a view to extending the project to the whole university population of 38,000 students if successful. Participants were recruited through posters on the campus and through a recruitment desk at the entrance to the student recreation area (opportunity sample). At the recruitment desk, a random sample of people were asked to fill out the questionnaire, and this questionnaire was also given to the participants at the initial meeting. A total of 30 questionnaires were completed. The participants then went through the process of creating a student journal, and were assigned roles by the Editor. Once the journal had been published, the participants were asked to complete the questionnaire again. Comparisons were made between the two sets of results to determine the outcome. Once the results of the academic year had been released, the academic marks were also taken into account in comparison with the general population of the immediate university campus. Although the sample size for the second questionnaire was small, it was clear that the participants felt that they were part of a community after the project than before, with a stronger sense of belonging. They were also more confident in their academic abilities and their future employability. All students involved achieved a 2:1 degree classification or higher, with 90% of the overall journal team achieving a 1st class honours degree classification. The Editor also won an award for academic excellence due to her involvement with the creation of the journal. Abstract: This paper provides new evidences on traditional finance-growth nexus via dividing financial services into intermediation and non-intermediation services and examines their relationships with economic growth. Applying time series cointegration techniques and Granger causality tests for eight OECD countries, several results are obtained. First, there exists a long-run equilibrium relationship among economic growth, intermediation activities, and non-intermediation activities in Austria, France, and Korea. Second, we find that financial intermediation services promote long-run economic growth in France and Korea, whereas non-intermediation services impede Austria?s long-term economic growth. Finally, the development of non-intermediation activities leads the development of intermediation activities in France and the Netherlands in the short-term. This paper emphasizes the importance of non-intermediation activities in the growth process and in the development of intermediation services as well. Because United States lumber standards are given in terms of population fifth percentile, and strength problems arised from the weaker fifth percentile rather than the stronger mean, the ratio should be expressed in terms of the fifth percentiles rather than the means of two strength distributions. Stata is an useful tool of handling the big data because the upper limit of number of observations in its SE version is 2,147,583,646. In this paper, an ado-file will be written for Stata programming of non parametric confidence regions for the ratio of two percentiles. In Stata, a scalar is used to save a value rather than a variable. The variable name is suggested to contain only small letters. A matrix will be used to save the Gaussian kernels contributed by all observations and the percentile when the confidence region is being constructed. First, we examine key characteristics of firm level total factor productivities (TFPs) using a non-parametric multi-factor productivity approach and, then we decompose TFP growth by ownership categories using the dynamic Olley-Pakes method, paying special attention to the role of FOEs in this area. Second, this study measures spillover effects of FOEs on TFP of overall industries and finds that the FOE sector not to have had the backward spillover effects, which operate through sourcing of intermediate parts from local firms. However, this result is reversed when we re-examine the relationship using a truncated FOE group, which consists of firms that have been converted into FOEs from being local Chinese firms through foreign direct investments. This suggests that the lack of knowledge of local supply chain networks by original FOEs might have contributed to the earlier finding of an absence of the backward spillover effect of FOEs on local firms. In addition, this study finds shuffling of firms between the two categories of FOEs of HMT and FDI to have had measurable TFP enhancing effects. To decrease bystander of bullying is effective to resolve bullying. However, the number of bystanders indicate a tendency to increase in Japan. The percentage of bullies who were reported by their classmates was 10% until 2010. It decreased to around 3% recently. In this research, the hypothesis that low consciousness of others raise the number of bystanders was formed. As a methodology, the questionnaire to 300 ordinary citizens was carried out. As a result of the survey, especially multidimensional sympathies, consciousness of others, and Japanese version of the Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire correlated to a bystander's behaviour of bullying. In order to increase the efficiency of drug development, open innovation through external cooperation between drug manufacturing companies is attracting attention. However, the research findings on previous researches are not necessarily the same regarding the size of the effect of external cooperation between drug manufacturing companies. It is assumed that differences in the kinds of pharmaceutical products and in the mode of inter-organisational relations are two of the causes of the variation in the research findings. For example, with regard to the mode of inter-organisational relation, the operational efficiency of a horizontal international specialization style is high in the IT industry, and the operational efficiency of a vertical integration style is high in the motor industry. Thus, in this research, the pharmaceutical products were classified appropriately and the inter-organisational relation fit for each was clarified empirically. As a method of research, from the intellectual-property database, the joint-application patents for the past ten years were extracted, and the inter-organisational relation was analysed by using the method of social network analysis. As a result, when the pharmaceutical products were classified with the conventional polymer formulation, the bio-drug development and the dosage-form development, the effect of external cooperation changed with differences in product characteristics. In addition, it became clear that the modes of external cooperation fit for each differ. (This work was supported by JSPS KAKENHI Grant Number 16K03916.) Rapid developments in the Arab world are expected to introduce an environment for the establishment of a new socio-political system. Sudden Arabic uprising, will be analyzed according to major historical and intellectual political changes throughout the modern era, in an attempt to challenge the argument that the Arabs will stay out of the historical context of the evolution of democracy. The main hypothesis of the study will emphasize that the current episodes of Arab Spring was triggered by a combination of economic, social and political factors directly related to the daily life of the people in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Syria among others Arabic countries. However, the aspirations and expectations of the masses exceeded the classical materialistic needs even for millions of low class citizens. The call for freedom, dignity and equality convincingly require an intellectual perspective for a modern state-building. The consequences of the Arab revolutions will open further areas for unprecedented challenges at both short and long terms of modern state-building. Major breakthrough in this evolution will certainly return Arabic political sociology to the heart of history. It will prove that Arabs can provide a genuine intellectual system with a valuable contribution to the progress of modern human civilization. They are various types of participatory approaches which may include Rapid Rural Appraisal (RRA), Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) and Participatory Assessment Monitoring and Evaluation (PAME) which could be analyzed as appropriate approach in realizing Community?s effort in developing countries and stresses the need for integration, participation and empowerment. With the application of these principles, the integration of various stake holders will enhances cross ?sectoral? harmonization of developmental objectives as well as increased coordination between agencies involved in the developmental process. Participation on its part gives the opportunity for consultation with those most directly affected which most at times are rural dwellers in developing countries; hence increasing the level of involvement of local people in the development process (Storey, 1999) and gives community members to take part in identifying priority areas, decision making and vulnerable groups to participate effectively in community development. We investigate these two phenomenon and compare results with prior research to determine their separate and combined effect on output growth in a panel regression model using Eurostat data for the period 1996 to 2013. Our findings point to both life expectancy and population ageing exerting a statistically significant, overlapping effect on real output. The conclusions of our research demonstrate the utility of augmenting macroeconomic models with a demographics-sensitive component. Convenience sampling was used and data were obtained from a sample of 369 employees from two municipalities. The results show that there is a negative relationship between workplace ostracism and work engagement. Moreover, neuroticism moderates the negative relationship between workplace ostracism and work engagement. Overall, the results show that work engagement decreases as workplace ostracism increases, and highly neurotic employees are more negatively affected by workplace ostracism. Local governments may utilize the results in their efforts to create an environment fostering work engagement. Leaders may apply the study outcomes about the role of employee personality and workplace ostracism to improve their service performance. Regarding the outdoor advertisement, for the harmony with buildings or street environment, there are several elements to be considered such as size, color, shape, type, attachment method, design, number of advertisement board. They should be closely managed as these elements have huge influence on the visual quality of street environment. However, in Korea, local governments is making the outdoor advertisement guidelines and then practicing the guidelines to improve the visual quality of street environment, but has not been communicated smoothly so far. Thus the current outdoor advertisement in Korea were jumbled up with the surrounding buildings, making the order of the whole street unharmonious. Thus, it is the moment to have a personal view for the harmony between the clean urban image, outdoor advertisement, and surrounding environment. This study aims to analyze the actual status of outdoor advertising and also to draw problems focusing on the domestic/foreign case study and the representative commercial districts of Gimhae-si such as Naeoe-dong and Eobang-dong. Abstract: The stock market has often been compared to gambling. Using daily return and volume data from January 1st, 2001 until December 31st, 2012 for all common shares listed on KOSPI and KOSDAQ in the Korea stock market, I examine the role of extreme positive returns in the cross-sectional pricing of stocks. My argument rests on the idea that individual investors, like racetrack punters, overvalue assets with lottery-like payoff. Retail investors tend to hold poorly diversified portfolio and more susceptible to longshot bias than institutional investors. If individuals have stronger preference for lottery-type stock than institutions participating in the stock market, then stock return is related to the extreme events observed in the past, and investor overpay these stock with dreaming jackpot winners. By testing several hypotheses, I find that individual investor overpay the lottery-type stocks. This investors? tendency increases gambling inclinations in market. Unlike previous studies, I find that racetrack punters do not tend to gamble during an economic downturn. Also, there is the strong intersection effect between maximum return portfolio and volatility, and between maximum return portfolio and skewness on the preference for gamble stocks. And, there are significantly stronger with lottery stock demanded by individuals than that of institutions. In spite of the versatile capabilities of the IPA to answer a user's simple information-based queries such as the weather and driving directions, the limited actual usage rates for the IPA services are reported so far. In this research, to evaluate the factors affecting the intention to use the IPA we develop the empirical model based on the technology acceptance model (TAM), innovation diffusion theory, and IS success model. Then, we collect the questionnaires from the actual users of the IPAs. Finally, the structural equation model validates the causal relationship between the constructs of the model. Although older people have significant symptoms of depression, the symptoms are likely to be underreported. The condition often co-exist along with somatic ill and has often been unrecognized. The aim of the study was to explore and understand the perceptions and experiences of older Thai people diagnosed with major depressive disorder. Methods: A qualitative inductive research design was used and latent content analysis was utilized. The data were collected through face-to-face, in-depth interviews. Fourteen older people diagnosed with major depressive disorder were selected for participant using purposive sampling. Findings: Older Thai peoples? perceptions and experiences of depression were abstracted into two themes. First theme was leading a life in detachment, which included three subthemes: living with meaninglessness, holding distress with one?s self, and feeling judged by surrounded people. The second theme was inconvenience of approaching mental health treatment, which included two subthemes: sensing an unapproachable health care services, and lacking knowledge about clinical depression. Conclusion: Older Thai peoples? perceptions and experiences of major depression were affected with high level suspected existential loneliness that might even be worse in a collect oriented society as in the Thai context. Further, it seem hard to approach the mental health care. The central reason for this is interpreted as lack of mental health literacy, and in this case knowledge on depression. Future studies should focus on relatives? experiences of living with an older family member that suffered from major depression, and on the state of mental health literacy in the rural Thai population. Capital and Liquidity according to Basel III: Problems and Experience from Eastern Europe Countries Abstract: Abstract Transition towards regulation of banking activity based on Basel III requirements was caused by consequences of global financial and economic crisis 2007 ? 2009 that endangered the financial system stability in many countries. The banks were forced to form a large volume of accumulations to cover bad debts and could not deal with absorption of losses. It means that the system of banking regulation and supervision existing at that time did not fully reflect the banking sector risks during the periods of economic and financial shocks. The purpose of the study is to identify the influence of Basel III nonmonetary regulation methods on the banking system stability and economic growth. The study has been carried out based on financial accounting of banks in countries of East Europe. The article gives an assessment of banking activity regulation based on the implementation of Basel III requirements, which have become a response of supervisory bodies to the prevention of crisis events. It was reflected in the toughening of requirements for the capital and liquidity, which in turn required the revision of banking activity management methods. Results of the research. Bank regulation based on Basel III requirements may have both positive and adverse aspects and consequences. Positive: Growing requirements for the capital and liquidity will increase the borrowing power and solvency of banks and, therewith, the sustainability of the entire banking sector. Banking system and economy in general will be more resistant to financial shocks. Regulation based on Basel III will also contribute to reduction in systemic risk and prevention of systemic crises in future. Negative: Increase in the capital of banks as well as improvement of its structure and quality will lead to growing expenditures of banks, which in turn can entail growth in credit rates and reduction of banking activity. As a result, economic growth will slow. Reduction of banking activity will have adverse impact on profitability of banking business. However, development of eco-friendly chemical foaming agent is acutely required due to ammonia gas generated from ADCA. Furthermore, the market demand is also occurring rapidly by international regulation on human health such as ?REACH?(European super-environment regulation), environmental pollutant emission regulation and increase interest of companies for improving working conditions. Therefore, the size effect of porous inorganic particle on ammonia gas deodorization was studied for development of eco-friendly chemical foaming agent. First, ammonia gas deodorizing effect of the inorganic particle was confirmed over 90% by test analysis on Korea Far Infrared Association (KFIA). The thermal and morphological properties of the inorganic particle were measured by thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) respectively. Also, the surface area of the inorganic particle was analyzed by Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET).Then after fabrication of foaming body using ADCA foaming agent depending on the content and size of the inorganic particle, the foaming efficiency, whiteness and ammonia gas emission were measured and analyzed by hydrometer, color difference meter and ammonia gas detector tube respectively. As a result, Korea has own technologies that enable observing earth and exploring space in various orbits, colours, and spatial resolutions. Also, it is expected that the Korea?s space launch vehicle(KSLV), which will be launched in 2019 for the first time, will be the most important achievement in Korea?s space history. Currently, the growth in national R&D expenditure for space program is, however, challenged by issues that arise due to changing domestic and foreign situations, and thus sustainability of space program in Korea becomes more challenging than any other time. The strategy for the government-leading space development lasting for more than past 25 years is also needed to be reconsidered. Here, I present the current status of Korea?s space program, which covers a short history and a diagnosis of space development in Korea. I also discuss the future directions of Korea?s space program that suggest possible solutions for maintaining its sustainability. This empirical study aims to investigate the linkage between relative income and happiness. We conducted a survey and then estimated happiness using the ordered logit model. Results showed that individual happiness is not only related to absolute relative income, but is also associated with the attitude toward relative income in two dimensions, namely, individual?s needs and compared with those of other people. Moreover, self-esteem, trust, and community specification factors can influence individual happiness. Policy implication should concern real inequality together with perception on inequality. It is crucial in the security of information storage and has found numerous applications in many fields. In a secret-sharing scheme, there is a dealer who has a secret key, a finite set P of participants and a collection ? of subsets of P called the access structure. Each subset in ? is a qualified subset. A secret-sharing scheme is a method by which the dealer distributes a secret key among the participants in P such that only the participants in a qualified subset can recover the secret from the shares they received. If, in addition, the shares given to the participants in any unqualified subset reveal no information about the secret, then this secret-sharing scheme is called perfect. The information ratio of a perfect secret-sharing scheme is a measurement of the efficiency of the scheme. It is defined as the ratio of the maximum length (in bits) of the share given to a participant to the length of the secret. Since this ratio represents the maximum bits a participant has to remember for each bit of the secret, it is expected to be as low as possible. Constructing secret-sharing schemes with the lowest ratio becomes an important task to achieve. Given an access structure ?, the infimum of the information ratio of all possible perfect secret-sharing schemes realizing this access structure is referred to as the optimal information ratio of ?. In this paper, we consider graph-based access structures. Given a simple graph G, let each vertex of G represents a participant and each edge of G represents a minimal qualified subset. The optimal information ratio of G is the infimum of the information ratio over all possible perfect secret-sharing schemes on G. Determining the exact value of the optimal information ratio is challenging. Most results give bounds on it. In this paper, we introduce an infinite class of graphs G(n,k) whose optimal information ratio has been shown to be at least 2-2^(-n+1). Subsequently, we propose our construction of a perfect secret-sharing scheme on each G(n,k) whose information ratio is 2. Therefore, the optimal information ratio of G(n,k) lies between 2 and 2-2^(-n+1). This bound is very good when n is sufficiently large, which also means the perfect secret-sharing schemes we construct are in fact quite efficient Length: 1 page Creation-Date: 2017-10 Publication-Status: Published in Proceedings of the Proceedings of the 33rd International Academic Conference, Vienna, Oct 2017, pages 209-209 File-URL: https://iises.net/proceedings/33rd-international-academic-conference-vienna/table-of-content/detail?cid=58&iid=043&rid=8226 File-Function: First version, 2017 Number: 5808226 Classification-JEL: Keywords: perfect secret-sharing scheme, information ratio, graph-based access structure, vector space Handle: RePEc:sek:iacpro:5808226 Template-Type: ReDIF-Paper 1.0 Author-Name: Marcelo Machado Author-Name-First: Marcelo Author-Name-Last: Machado Author-Email: marcelo.machado@kpu.ca Author-Workplace-Name: Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) Title: Massive Open Online Research: A Collaborative Approach to Tackle Wicked Research Issues. Abstract: Humans are hardwired as problem-solvers. Education and research enable us to solve complex problems. Even decades ago, we could safely send a crew to the moon and back. A moon-bound project is a very challenging and complex problem, but it is a tame one. The problem is clearly defined and the challenge becomes how to find the best solution. As the world and our understanding of issues becomes more interconnected, there is a different type of problem in the horizon - ?wicked? problems. A wicked problem is normally complex and challenging, but differs from the ?tame? problem because there is no agreement in terms of problem definition. A wicked problem does not allow for the ?choice? of best solution. Solutions tend to only mitigate the problem and sometimes generate unpredictable consequences. For instance, mitigating climate change is an issue that requires a level of ingenuity that cannot be achieved by a limited group of people, regardless how brilliant they are. It cannot be addressed by our dominant scientific, reductionist, discipline-based, and proprietary approach either. This paper proposes Massive Online Open Research (MOOR) as an alternate approach to deal with wicked research issues. In terms of organization, this paper includes a thorough literature review on online collaboration, focusing on the dynamics of knowledge creation and innovation. Sample open online research initiatives are described and analyzed in the light of the literature review. Based on the literature review and real cases, a MOOR framework is proposed and discussed. Limitations and opportunities for future research are also included. But initial legislative and regulatory efforts to promote competition have focused on the supply side of the market: creating trading floors for energy and capacity sales, removing barriers to independent generators and marketers, and promoting open and non-discriminatory access to the transmission grid. It is assumed by many that robust competition among a variety of suppliers would be sufficient to ensure reasonable electricity rates and service options to customers. But the principal lesson learned from New England?s, French, Germany, Austria and other power systems and markets is that competition among electricity suppliers alone (without an active demand response) is not enough to create efficiently competitive electricity markets. Demand response provides a fair reward to consumers for demand flexibility without compensation of suppliers and relies on available technical solutions. But customers benefit alone is not enough to make demand response to participate in balancing market. Suppliers could also gain by making use of demand response, if they chose to do so. Thus, the purpose of Our study is twofold: to show that robust competition among a variety of suppliers without an active demand response is not enough to create efficiently competitive electricity markets, and to test the hypothesis that ?Only under the fully liberalized customer-centric demand response electricity market with ?Aggregators? on place Georgia?s domestic customers can reap the benefits from their ?demand response? behavior in the form of reduced energy bills without the need of compensating suppliers?.In order to test our hypothesis, empirical analyses have been applied. Based exclusively on secondary data obtained from various sources, We have made the modification to the Georgian Electricity Market Model (GEMM2015) developed by Deloitte Consulting in collaboration with Pierce Atwood Attorneys LLC in 2012. Our considerations are based mainly on the cost-benefit analysis commissioned by Regulatory Assistance Project (RAP) aiming to prove that all customers benefit from explicit demand response, not just those customers who reduce their demand. Thus, instead of paying to generators that sell energy in the balancing market a ?market-clearing price? (in the event of ?over-scheduling?) or compensating generators to reduce generation (in the event of ?under-scheduling?), it would be more reasonable to deploy responsive demand for balancing purposes. Developed countries? capital markets have a proven record of success in terms of transforming funds from surplus units to deficit units. Both domestic institutional investors (DII) and foreign institutional investors (FII) have been instrumental in establishing key functional areas of stock markets and enhancing efficiency in the operations of such markets mechanisms. Domestic institutional investors try to facilitate funds availability in the core sectors of the economy; foreign institutional investors, on the other hand, provide funds to generate economic benefits from large scale projects like infrastructure. Both investor classes use stock markets to channel their funds for investment purposes and maximize their wealth.Developed countries have seen institutional investors contributing significantly since 1960s but developing countries have been bit late mainly because of capital controls and other restrictive regulatory conditions. Foreign institutional investors have become active player in the developing countries from 1990 onwards when there was economic integration and financial liberalization process taking place especially in the developing part of the world. This has led the global institutional investors put approximately US$63 trillion worth of assets under management by 2011. Developing and emerging markets have also attracted vital share of the assets through institutional investing. Global investors found India as an attractive destination for investments and their net investments in Indian equities and debt amounted to US$ 7.46 billion in 2016-17. Cumulatively, it makes up around US$ 183.69 billion up to 2016. A recent report by Ernst & Young suggests that India is rated 3rd in the most attractive investment destinations in the world. But the growing activities of institutional investors have also raised some concerns about the behavioral reactions of the investors and their implications on the fundamental value of the stocks. This paper is an attempt to examine those behavioral reactions of both institutional investors ? foreign and domestic. The study aims to apply granger causality on the institutional investments through vector autoregressive (VAR) model in order to find out relationship between foreign and domestic institutional investors trading strategies. It would also be interesting to see if foreign institutional investment strategy influences domestic institutional strategy or vice-versa. Abstract: Results from optimum control problems with uncertain parameters are investigated in a numerical case study for Austria. Optimal budgetary policies are calculated under varying assumptions about stochastic parameters within the framework of a problem of quantitative economic policy. An intertemporal objective function is minimized subject to the constraints of a small macroeconometric model, and approximately optimal values for federal budget expenditures and revenues are determined. It is shown that the deterministic and the fully stochastic optimal policies are rather similar. If only some parameters are assumed to be stochastic, or if covariances between different parameters are not taken into account, on the other hand, optimization results can be very different from deterministic or fully stochastic optimization results. The sample is selected from listed companies in the Stock Exchange of Thailand with sustainability disclosure according to Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines during the year 2013 to 2015. This study used content analysis to evaluate the sustainability disclosure in sustainability reports, annual reports and annual registration statements according to 91 indicators of GRI G4 related to economic, environmental, and social performance. The study shows that the sustainability disclosure level of companies in petrochemicals and chemicals industry have been relatively low but slightly improved over time. The correlation analysis results indicate no relationship between the disclosure level related to economic and profitability ratios. The disclosure levels related to environmental and social performance have been found negatively related to return on assets and return on equity but not related to net profit ratio. Since GRI G4 guidelines has been recently used in petrochemicals and chemicals industry in Thailand, future study may need to examine long-term value of sustainability disclosure. It also identified color plan establishment conditions considering the differences between user's physiological response and psychological reaction in the environment. An experimental environment set up with pale, bright and vivid R and G color tone that selected from NCS color system. Five males and Five females took the color experiment with the heart rate variability device that measuring their heart bit and autonomic nervous system for determining the human body physiology response. After completing the experiment, the response of psychological from the change of the color environment was investigated by conducting the one-on-one in-depth interview. The result of the investigation is as follows. First, the response of the autonomic nervous system showed that there was a significant difference between male and female. Male tend to have a decreasing pulse while changing pale G color to vivid G color environment. Bright tone increases the LF index of females. There is an opposite result between the male and female for the LF/HF index in the G color tone environment. The noteworthy difference between male and female was shown in the LF and LF/HF of R color tone environment and LF/HF of G color tone environment.Second, female increased LF, LF/HF index in the bright R color. It was found that stress such as anxiety and frustration were observed in the bright tone rather than the vivid and pale tone. Also, most female?s responded that they had a nervous feeling and frustration in the interview after the experiment. Therefore, it is expected that the use of bright tone color should be considered in spaces that are used mostly by female. Third, the emotional response to the R color was consistent with that of the female, whereas the psychological response to the G color did not match with that of both the male and female. The psychological response was different according to the individual experience, preference, and taste. In particular, there were cases that the emotional response to vivid G color appears to be opposite, so it is expected that users' preference will be greatly changed when vivid tone color is used. In 1492, Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean and discovered America. The exploration of the American continent by the Europeans has caused dramatic changes in the world. Columbus?s discovery inaugurated an age of aggressive Spanish enlargement across the Atlantic. Spain obtained a great deal of gold, silver, and furs from its colonies. This success attracted the attention of other European countries. European forces that had the will to dominate the economic resources presented by the continent fought each other along with Native Americans. Since Europeans had the advantage of weapon technology, these wars resulted to the detriment of Native Americans. In this article, the way people, trade, economy, health, and environment were affected by the discovery will be discussed. Furthermore, increases in the number of foreign workers in Thailand also cause a wide range of problems concerning public health such as communicable disease or hygiene for living in each area. The government recognizes the aforementioned problems and has, therefore, attempted to control the situation by having as many foreign workers register in the health system as possible. Many foreign workers also perform self-care based on their capabilities. Thus, promoting health knowledge in foreign workers benefits the public health system as a whole. Methods for promoting health knowledge should use online media capable of accessing foreign worker groups conveniently without wasting government budgets. In the area of success factors for communication, as much understanding of online health media use behaviors among foreign workers as possible must be understood to enable successful communication. This study was aimed at studying the online media use behaviors and perceived e-health literacy among foreign workers divided into three groups based on government welfare use. Data were collected in August ? September 2016. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Most of the foreign workers were found to be males (54.2%) aged 20-30 years (52.5%) who had elementary levels of education (42%) and mean/monthly income within a range of 5,001 ? 10,000 baht (84.7%). The samples had moderate online media use behaviors such as using LINE (Mean = 2.70, SD = 1.552) and Facebook (Mean = 2.65, SD = 1.587). Other online media were used at low to lowest levels. Every health data content searched via online media were at low to lowest levels. Perceived e-health literacy of foreign workers was low for every item. Foreign workers who used different types of government welfare were found to have differences in online media use, search content and perceived e-health literacy with statistical significance at .05 for every item. The findings of this study can help academics develop online health media to suit the online media use behaviors of foreign workers as well as possible to benefit national public health in the future. Abstract: The purpose of the paper is to assess how dynamic nature of culture impacts negotiation strategies. This paper focuses on changing cultural values in relationship management in the context of negotiations. We illustrate the cross-cultural differences and commonalities by applying multiple case study method. We have found that negotiations in China are contextually and geographically based and can differ substantially in terms of the location within China, industry, business partner characteristics, and nevertheless guanxi (i.e. relationships, acquaintances, etc.) you and your partner possess. Most of the interviewees claim that negotiations in China are very much connected with the hierarchy, which is usually tight to the age of the counterpart. The most important and the biggest decisions are always made only by the firm owner, if the firm is private, or the highest ranked businessman. It is important to know, that in formal business meetings Asians seldom show any emotions with the face gestures. More importantly, their negotiation strategies are changing in time, which confirms the dynamic nature of culture. The added value of this paper is putting negotiation strategies in the context of a new yin-yang school of culture. Opposed to Chinese-Western relationship studies that are dominating the negotiation literature, we offer insights to Chinese-Eastern Europe relationships with a common cultural history. In sum, paper draws on literature from two disciplines, international trade and business negotiations, extending the scope of research contribution. The method of this research was qualitative research by applying SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats). The key informants were from three groups; namely 1) executives and community leaders, 2) manufacturer and entrepreneur, and 3) representative local people in the community. The research instruments were an in-depth interview, documentaries and focus group. The findings indicated that: Muang Wiang Sa has valuable historical attractions. The existing community sages are ready to convey the knowledge to the young new generation. However, the community does not have high potential in the management of historical tourism and environmental conservation. The cooperation of the community in the management of tourism is at the high level. Basic infrastructure and facilities should be improved. The historical tourism plan should be made. Moreover, the collaboration of young generation in the community must be encouraged. The empirical results indicate a strong positive influence of both functional diversification and market-driven capability on a transfer of market knowledge, i.e., customer and competitor intelligence. The qualitative data collected through in-depth interviews with top executives were then leveraged to provide further explanation and support empirical results. Rozo, senior professor of International EconomicsUniversidad Autónoma Metropolitana- Xochimilco CampusCiudad de México, Méxicorozo@correo.xoc.uam.mxDuring the 1980s, Mexico brought to an end its model of closed economy that oriented its productive system to supplying its internal market within a low level of interconnectivity with foreign markets. The transit to an open economy, inserted in the synergy of international connectivity, concluded with the signing of North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) in 1993. In this process of openness and of structural transformation, the automotive industry (AI) was to become the engine for wider industrialization due to the high levels of foreign investment and the switch of production for export into the global automobile value chains. The Mexican AI, as part of this strategy of global organization and production, has been a very profitable success for the leading U.S. and European transnational automotive corporations. By moving their productive capacity to Mexico these auto OEMs have gain in efficiency and competitivity by reducing their costs and shipping most of their production to the higher priced auto consumer market of the US. The impact of this strategy on the development of the Mexican economy is less evident due to the low level of local value added generated by this industry. Production for export depend largely on imported inputs have minimized forward and backward linkages of this sector with the rest of the Mexican economy. Furthermore, the high degree of this industry´s robotization and technological orientation creates serious limitation in the demand for labor. This paper shows that these contradictory results question the validity of the extreme dependence of Mexico on GVC to develop a more dynamic and inclusive internal market with dubious implications for Mexican economic development and welfare enhancement. It sets up a simple three-firm, three-country model in which each country adopts different standards. The difference in standards incurs conversion costs to each firm for the foreign market access and harmonization through the FTA TBT agreement removes such costs between member countries. The paper shows that harmonization of standards with the technologically more or less advanced country always increases the consumer surplus and the social welfare. In addition, the producer surplus will increase if the harmonization partner country has a higher technology level while it may decrease if the partner has a lower technology level. The paper also shows that if most of the domestic exporting goods are in the sectors with high conversion costs, harmonizing standards with the technologically more advanced country is prioritized. If they are in the sectors with low conversion costs, harmonizing with the less advanced country is prioritized. Such strategies, moreover, should be emphasized under a higher technology asymmetry among the countries. This paper looks into the core aspects of marketing function along with the operations of the supply chain for the purpose of value creation in the eyes of customer. Value creation is the process of providing and delivering goods and services to the customers for which they are ready to pay for and also takes the product or service more towards its logical conclusion, in other words, it adds something to the product or service. The paper introduces the basic concepts of value creation from customers? perspective, it then goes on to relate the vital role the marketing-operations plays in various performance metrics of any supply chain network. These performance metrics are then detailed out from a qualitative and quantitative perspective. In the end, the paper does touch upon the areas of overlap and major concern for any organization with footprint across a big geographical region. This study focuses on the inventory management of perishable items having constant demand. Firstly, the mathematical model for perishable items have been framed and then using the principle of maxima- minima the optimal cycle time equation has been obtained. Also using simulation the best possible solution has been obtained for the various cases. By using the above model retailer can easily decide his inventory cycle time and optimal ordering quantity. The above model can be converted into the classical EOQ model if nonperishable items are considered. Otherwise, also it follows the classical EOQ principle which states that the optimal order quantity is obtained when ordering cost is equal to the carrying cost Length: 1 page Creation-Date: 2017-10 Publication-Status: Published in Proceedings of the Proceedings of the 33rd International Academic Conference, Vienna, Oct 2017, pages 291-291 File-URL: https://iises.net/proceedings/33rd-international-academic-conference-vienna/table-of-content/detail?cid=58&iid=066&rid=7976 File-Function: First version, 2017 Number: 5807976 Classification-JEL: C44 Keywords: Deterioration, Optimality, Sensitivity Handle: RePEc:sek:iacpro:5807976 Template-Type: ReDIF-Paper 1.0 Author-Name: Robinson Sinurat Author-Name-First: Robinson Author-Name-Last: Sinurat Author-Email: r.sinurat@columbia.edu Author-Workplace-Name: Columbia University School of Social Work Title: The Impact of Establishing a Village Library for Students in Wolobetho Village, District of Ende, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia Abstract: This study investigated the impact of establishing a library on students? study motivation in Wolobetho Village, District of Ende, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. The targeted students consisted of all students from three different schools in Wolobetho village: Primary School Feoria (29 students), Primary School Fungapanda (74 students), and Vocational High School 6 (39 students). To identify the effects of the intervention, the modified ten questions pre-and post-intervention student surveys were used as well as the semi-structured interviews to all students in those three schools. The six-months intervention of the new library consisted of three projects with cooperative learning activities, purposeful tasks, and learners? self-determination. Although this study was limited in duration and scope, the results had positive effects of the library on learner motivation. The study revealed that access to the library impacted high school students? positive attitude toward learning writing and primary school students? positive attitude toward learning reading. Both primary and high school students increased in motivational intensity as well as their desire to learn English. However, it was found that the students need more guidance and supervision from the teachers. The students did not have a close relationship with their teacher as a motivating factor. It also showed obstacles in implementing some after school programs for the students. Based on these findings, some pedagogical recommendations for better results are discussed and some suggestions are included for the future research. Abstract: Since its induction, the concept ?relationship marketing? has evolved significantly and today it is acknowledged by marketing academics and practitioners alike. It is therefore not unexpected to learn that the marketing literature has progressively started to focus on the dimensions or building blocks of relationship marketing. One of the most frequently cited dimensions of relationship marketing is relationship commitment. However, despite several studies on the nature of relationship commitment, there still appears to be uncertainty regarding the management of commitment. One of these uncertainties is the possible influence of relationship shocks on customer commitment. It is often assumed that these shocks are detrimental to customer commitment, and by focusing on the management of relationship shocks, service providers are in a position to either restore or enhance the stability of a relationship. However, existing literature appears to focus primarily on an organisational context, with limited research addressing the customer perspective. It is against this background that this study investigated the influence of relationship shocks on customer commitment. For the purpose of this study, a multi-dimensional approach towards customer commitment was adopted, including both the affective and calculative sides of commitment. The study commenced with a pre-test in which the selected respondents were exposed to a number of relationship shocks. Based on the results of the pre-test, low-, medium- and high-shock scenarios were identified. During the next phase of the study, an experiment was conducted among 706 respondents in the mobile service industry. Three groups of respondents were created, and each of these three groups were exposed to a different relationship shock scenario. This was followed by an assessment of the respondents? commitment towards their mobile service providers. The data were analysed by means of the statistical program SPSS version 23. The findings of the study were somewhat unexpected, as no statistically significant differences emerged between the three different relationship shock scenarios and affective commitment, whilst calculative commitment was significantly influenced by the level of a relationship shock. The primary contribution of the study lies in the realisation that the extent to which an individual experiences a relationship shock does not influence their emotional attachment to their service provider. However, the extent to which an individual is ?shocked?, does influence their awareness of the costs associated with ending the relationship with their mobile service provider. The data consist of financial ratios and bankrupt information of the randomly selected 39 real sector companies listed in Borsa ?stanbul over the period 2012 to 2014 and 15 real sector companies for the following year, i.e. 2015. As real-life bankruptcy is rarely observed for publicly traded companies, a proxy is used for failure behavior. The proxy used is ?being transferred to Watchlist Companies Market of Borsa ?stanbul (BIST)?. Multiple discriminant analysis (MDA) was used in analyzing data. To validate identification ability of the MDA model, 4 scenarios are created. To assess the prediction ability of the MDA model, z-scores of the companies are calculated for the year 2015. At a time of global economic recession (2016) and a subsequent boom in the first quarter of 2017, unclear markets, great pace of change, and an extreme need for flexibility, each organization relies on its talents to overcome them. Good practices show that they best deal with the "crisis" of companies in which there are built-up, robust talent management processes and continuity planning. This topic is a real challenge for SKF Bearings company in Bulgaria witch consists of three independent plants located in the town of Sopot, the town of Kalofer and the village of Karnare. In view of the demographic development of the area in which the Company is located, the problem of building up its own staff and continuity for all levels of government is at the forefront. Another challenge is the stagnation in the labor market and the lack of expertise. Bulgaria is an increasingly preferred destination for exporting labor - intensive production facilities from central Europe to automotive and not only industry. For companies, this mean that they will have to where with the available staff, which posses the challenge of retaining, re-qualifying and increasing knowledge, skills, performance and motivation. In view of the increasing turnover in trends of the company, the task of continuity of the business processes from the point of view of the human resource is at the forefront and the implementation of a Talent Management system is with high priority for the organization. Talent Management aims to ensure that SKF has the right people in the right place in order to stimulate the business and to succeed in the market - today and tomorrow. It is about creating the right conditions for employees to maximize their potential and focus on their own development and careers. With the joint family system separated, elderlyThai persons often have to care for themselves, and opportunities for them toget involved in community care remain limited. In response, the aim of thisstudy was to describe older persons? and their family members? experienceswith shareholding networks for the care of older people in rural Thailand.Paired interviews with five older persons and five of their family memberswere conducted, and collected data were subjected to content analysis, whichyielded results organized around two themes: older persons? outsider statusand disregard for older persons? individuality. Whereas the theme of outsiderstatus describes shortcomings in health care encounters, the theme of disregardfor individuality describes the lack of engagement of authorities and caregiversin older persons? care. They contribute to economic growth, to reducing the unemployment rate and they also positively affect other macroeconomic indicators. Foreign companies bring with them not only foreign capital that they invest in the host country, but also new technology, modern and more effective production and management methods, classic standards of business conduct, new jobs as well as opportunities for domestic suppliers.Host countries then attempt to attract foreign investors via active policies through investment incentives and various preferential conditions for investing. Investment incentives for foreign investors are thus among the important public spending programs. Basic investment incentives in countries with transitive economies within the European Union include income tax credits, respectively tax holidays, the transfer of land for a subsidized price, one-time financial support for the creation of new jobs and financial support for retraining employees. The provision of investment incentives means not only an increase on the expenditure side of the public budget or a decrease of the income side of the public budget (due to tax credits), but it usually leads ? as our research demonstrated ? to a start of the influx of revenue sources for public budgets, already in the short or medium term horizon. The aim of the research was to develop a methodology for measuring the fiscal effectiveness of provided investment incentives in the process of their implementation, to determine what the effects are on the income side of the national budget, and for this purpose construct an indicator of fiscal effectiveness whose functional and explanatory power would need to be tested in practice among the recipients of investment incentives. The fiscal effectiveness of investment incentives was constructed as the share of outputs (in the form of revenues from taxes, social and health insurance, fees, savings on the expenditure side of the budget) on a unit of inputs (income tax credit, financial support for a created job, subsidy to cover the costs of employee retraining, administrative costs of collecting taxes, subsidies on the technical equipment of an area on which production is to be located, subsidy on the price of land). With regard for business plans, fiscal effectiveness was assessed for a period of 5 years from the approval and receipt of the investment incentive in a set of industrial enterprises in the Czech Republic. The World Health Organization has unanimously adopted a global plan of action on the public health response to dementia 2017-2025 at the 70th World Health Assembly in May 2017. One of the targets included in the plan is risk reduction. An unhealthy lifestyle and diet are likely to cause many diseases. This study aims to clarify lifestyle and dietary factors associating with dementia status in the community-dwelling elderly aged 65 years and older in a suburban town of Tokyo and to clarify gender differences in health behavior. Methods: Self-administered questionnaires were mailed to 2,069 elderly people in February 2004 and 1,538 were returned by addressees or proxies (response rate 74.3%). Institutionalized ones were excluded. Analysis subjects were comprised of 52 people with dementia (PWD), 173 people with probable dementia (PPD) and 1,211 cognitively intact people (CIP). Average age(sd) was 74.03(6.55) in men and 75.56(7.27) in women. Descriptive statistics, a chi-square, Kruskal-Wallis, Mann-Whitney U and Bonferroni?s multiple comparison tests were performed in men and women, respectively. Significance was set at 0.05 (0.0167 after Bonferroni correction). Lifestyle items included daytime lying hours, sleeping hours, walking/exercise, outing, pet caring, hobbies, smoking, alcohol consumption, cooking and breakfast. Diet items included meat/poultry, soy products, eggs, oily fish, dairy products, fruits, (cooked) vegetables, fried food and miso soup/soup. Results: The Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney U tests revealed significant differences in most lifestyle items except smoking in men and women. Breakfast was significant only in women. As for diet items, only fruits and fried food were significant in men: CIP>PPD and/or PWD. Women showed significant differences in every diet items: mostly CIP>PPD and CIP>PWD and only fruits showed PPD>PWD. Conclusion: Though significant differences in lifestyle were weaker in men, CIP showed healthier lifestyle. In women CIP showed better health behavior both in lifestyle and diet. Exercise, social and mental activities like outing and hobbies, moderate alcohol consumption and food items above are recommended to prevent or delay the onset of dementia by Alzheimer?s Society. This study, along with Japanese women?s better lifestyle, has the same implications associating with dementia risk reduction. It also suggests that Japanese diet ?Washoku? (a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage) which is nutritionally well-balanced contributes to better health status as Japanese women enjoy the longest longevity in the world. It also has profound implications for pension plan and long-term economic forecasts of the nation. In the present paper we examine various forecasting methods for mortality in the framework of cointegrated time series analysis. The Lee-Carter (LC) method has been regarded as the benchmark for forecasting mortality. However, its forecasting accuracy has been known to be particularly poor for short-term forecasts, while it is well for long-term forecasts. Recently, a new methods called the multivariate time series variance component (MTV) method has been proposed which explicitly satisfies cointegration restrictions of the series. It overcomes weak points of the LC method. In the present paper we propose two new methods. The first one is the modified MTV (mMTV) method which modifies the MTV method in order to get more accurate forecast of the trend component of the method. The second is the all-component Lee-Carter (LCA) method which generalizes the Lee-Carter method, by using all principal components, in order to improve short-term forecasts of the LC method. However, it may be noted that the LCA method does not satisfy cointegration restrictions. We analytically compare forecasting accuracy of the proposed methods with the Lee-Carter method and the MTV method in the framework of cointegrated time series. We further compare them in a Monte Carlo experiment and in an empirical application of forecasting mortality for Japanese male. It is shown that the mMTV method is generally the most accurate in the Monte Carlo experiment and in Japanese data. The MTV method works almost as well. However, since the drift estimator is inefficient, it is slightly less accurate than the mMTV method in some occasions. The forecast accuracy of the LCA method is reasonably high and can be equivalent to the mMTV method in some occasions, but is generally inferior to the MTV method and the mMTV method. As expected, the LC method is the worst among methods examined in the present study. The mMTV method is recommended for practical use. Abstract: In 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed the building of the New Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road ? now collectively called the Belt and Road Initiative (B&R hereafter). Since the aim of B&R is to increase connectivity, enhance trade flows and spur long-term economic growth, it is a key pillar of China?s ?going out? strategy. In the Southeast Asian region, new opportunities and new challenges arise from B&R. This study will review B&R and assess how it is being implemented, how it will go forward, and what implications it has for ASEAN. Particularly, the study will focus on the implications and opportunities it brings to the energy sectors of the region. Research questions that will be addressed include but not limited to: What is the likely impact of Chinese investment in Southeast Asia?s energy sector on the expansion of its total energy production capacity? How successful is B&R likely to be in facilitating ASEAN?s energy infrastructure connectivity? How the physical connectivity may help energy market integration in ASEAN? And so on and so forth. The study argues that although China?s investment in ASEAN?s energy sector has been encouraged by the B&R, the investment is just an upgraded version of its ?going out? strategy proposed in the early 2000s. B&R will help development in the energy sector of ASEAN, yet not much achievement can be expected in facilitating ASEAN?s energy infrastructure connectivity and its energy market integration. Financial autonomy is one of the momentous determinants in accordance with tuition fee and loans. Managing resources independently would allow universities to reach their strategic aims more successfully. Many criteria are allowed for considering financial autonomy of university and among these criteria determination of tuition fee freely by a university or by an external authority is an important decision to finance public higher education. While tuition fee approach derives from financing higher education by public resources, HEIs would be the authority to decide the amount of it between upper and lower limits settled on by the external authority. Further to that, loan opportunities to pay the fees should be taken into account for especially poor-background students which affect the attendance level. These loan opportunities may be provided either by the government or private sector. In this study how tuition fee is decided due to financial autonomy in Turkey and which loan options are available to students will be examined in comparison with Australia to show the effect transparently.
