In 2004 Thailand ranked 59th out of 167 countries in the worldwide Press Freedom Index from Reporters Without Borders and then has fallen rather steadily. In 2015 Thailand?s Press Freedom was ranked 134th out of 180 countries worldwide and ranked 13th among other Asian Pacific countries. The freedom of expression was first guaranteed by the 1997 Thai Constitution, followed by the Constitution promulgated in 2007. By law, freedom of expression could be restricted only in limited cases such as to preserve national security, maintain public order, prevent insults to Buddhism, and offensive to the monarchy. The military coup in May 2014 led to the establishment of a junta called the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) to govern the nation. The NCPO repealed the 2007 constitution (except for provision dealing with the monarchy) and promulgated an interim constitution on July 22. Right after the coup, freedom of expression of people and journalists were threatened by the NCPO which issued broad orders prohibiting criticism of its actions, shut down some media outlets, blocked access to many websites, and sometimes summoned members of the media to report to authorities for questioning. Politicians and journalists who failed to comply with the orders usually were invited for ?Attitude Adjustment? (a method to neutralize the NPCO?s critics and opponents). Currently most media outlets are allowed to operate under the supervision of the military and government authorities. The restrictions on freedom of speech and censorship by the NPCO therefore resulted in an increasing self-censorship among the media and general public. The proliferation of various and diverse media will likely make the junta?s control of the media ineffective or problematic. This paper aims to explore the freedom of expression under the current military regime in Thailand, in terms of both press freedom and freedom of expression among the public. The case studies and related legal and cultural issues will be discussed. Rooted in Romanticism, it nowadays survives within the New Age culture. The alternative community and sanatorium Monte Verità (Switzerland), founded in 1900, became a meeting point for naturism, occultism and theosophy, interreligious dialogue and psychology, anarchism and the avant-garde during the century. Just the same, the Christian pilgrim place Glastonbury (England) has gathered Hippies, mystics, New Pagans, Ley-Line and earth-energies Hunters and New Agers, especially since the 1970s. In particular, both places have become ?sacred? centers for those ?new? spiritual currents sharing a common belief to the ?Mother?: the ?divine? energy that, being the source of all creation, is identified as feminine. Based on this conception of ?God/dess?, several nature- (and ?Mother?-) oriented healing businesses have been established in both places, amongst others through the support of various media channels. Furthermore, these ?new? proposed ways of life mostly result from the integration of pre-Christian Celtic elements with Eastern imports (e.g. yoga and shiatsu). Finally, it is this eclectic mixture resulting in the belief to the ?Mother? that constitutes their ?alternativeness?: first, with regard to the rather ?Father-based? Christian tradition; second, with regard to the capitalized and industrialized Western world. For all these reasons, Monte Verità and Glastonbury are two interesting outstanding examples to start the discussion about the ?revolution? in the European social and religious practices of the 20th and of the 21st century. They were divided in two different groups, one included 18 and the other 14 learners. After recording their voice while giving them full and partial recast, regarding data analysis, chi Square and Paired-Samples t-test were run to analyze the data. The hypothesis was retained, leading us to conclude that full and partial recast did not function differently in simple past ?ed? and the third person ?s?. Title: Free viewpoint real video streaming system for 360° three-dimensional viewing Abstract: The goal of this study was to develop a unique free viewpoint real video technology for 360° three-dimensional (3-D) viewing of photographic subjects and to utilize it in online video transmissions. In existing multi-angle video systems, the simultaneous synchronization and playback of large volumes of video images significantly burdens the central processing unit (CPU). Because repeated play and pause processing of multiple videos must be performed, a time lag occurs with every change in viewpoint. In this context, smooth transitions between videos of multiple viewpoints are challenged. In response to this situation, the author developed a method to create a single composite image of a subject photographed in 360° using multiple cameras and display the image during transmission by partially trimming it and sliding the display positioning under the direction of the user. This method resulted in a system that enables not only smooth viewpoint switching and 360° 3-D viewing of photographic subjects; it does so at a quality and size possible for online streaming. Therefore, in 2013, a Japanese patent was granted for this technology, it was used in an advertising promotion for Sharp?s 4K television, and it was used in the television Asahi web program ?Danceta!? Additional patents were granted in 2015 in Korea, China, and the United States. The European patent is pending. Karma« Abstract: Many comparisons have been made between them, known for their existentialist and sometimes expressionist style of writing. In this work I will look behind their creative writing process and find the similarities in their lives that could have affected their choice of themes and motives. I believe that both, having lived through the changing times of the 20th century, such as the two World Wars, have had trouble fitting into the modern world. Through their work and the problem of their identity and their problems of identifying with the changes in world around them is noticeable. I will concentrate on the analysis of Kafka's short stories, »The Metamorphosis« and Kôbô Abe's »The Crime of S. Karma«. Through the analysis, I will focus on the characteristics of their writing that appear in both of these works, and associate them with their lives and the happenings in the world at that time. One of the main themes of the two chosen works is the metamorphosis that the two main characters go through. The decision of the authors for choosing this exact phenomenon might be different, but the way they use it to portray the inner state of their main characters shows connections between them. Thus I will concentrate on analysing this one motive especially, because I consider that by understanding the cause for the metamorphosis' of the main characters we will get to understand the authors and their relationship towards modern society as well. Christianity accounts for only 11.1 per cent of the Chinese population. The Christians are heterogeneous by denominations and it was observed that Catholicism and Protestantism are two major denominations of Christianity in Malaysia. The Trinity doctrine in general has been practiced in almost all of the Christian churches. This article focuses on Chinese Christians in the Peninsular Malaysia particularly in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. This study aims to explore the Christian denominations among the Chinese Christians in both places as well as to identify their understanding of the Trinity doctrine. There are many different church groups. Roman Catholic Church is the oldest church denomination which began with the Portuguese arrival in the early 16th century. Meanwhile, the Anglican Diocese of West Malaysia, Lutheran Church of Malaysia, Methodist Church of Malaysia, Chinese Annual Conference and Trinity Annual Conference, and Presbyterian Church of Malaysia are some of the Protestant churches registered under the Council of Churches of Malaysia. Their headquarters are located in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. Chinese members can be found in all of the churches. The Chinese Christians are further divided into Chinese-speaking congregation and English-speaking congregation. Qualitative content analysis is used for analysis of records and census data reports related to the issue being studied. Questionnaire-based survey is also conducted in this study. The preliminary study found that the Trinity doctrine remained as central Christian belief with different level of understandings identified among the Chinese Christian members. Finding of this study is crucial to discover how Chinese Christians in Malaysia are involved in describing their understanding of the Trinity belief in the Malaysian context as a multi-religious country. Abstract: This is an old fashioned lesson from Disney movies: the happily ever after romance is gained from a long term pain-bearing and a passive rescue-waiting of a young, pretty and sweet princess. As children are being exposed to Disney homogeneous and highly repetitive princess genre ? these stories slowly gain a foothold in the development of young children and eventually become the first gender teacher of global children since 1937 when the Snow White was introduced. Children are raised with stereotypical gender expectation: the princess plays the passive role of the lonely, timid, and waiting for the courageous prince to rescue her from the complicated family affairs or free her from her life imprisonment, immortality curse, and the abusive stepfamily. However, over the years of typical fairy-tales, it is observed there is a shift in female characters and storyline development in Disney genre. This new wave of female characters or princesses in recent fairy tales convince researchers that a breakthrough of gender stereotypes in film making is well underway. It also reflects a substantial weight of feminism ideology injected into message of these films, constantly challenging the relevance of conventional masculine-superior characters in today?s reality context. From a passive role, the new princesses in now portrayed in the light of independent and self-determine gender ideology providing an awareness, insight and stimulation towards viewers? feminism development in their girlhood. By following the discussion, this work analyses the development of gender portrayals of Disney movies, by studying the changes of female representation through characters and storylines; and the influence of Disney?s princesses in female spectators? development. Also, the progression of gender concept of classic and modern princess movies will be identified, the reflection of feminism in traditional and contemporary children cinemas, and the elaboration of the gender identification that developed in Eastern female society will be explored. Essentially, these issues are related to the development of musical talent, in which the musical empathy plays a leading role. Recent studies show a close interrelation of emotions and movements in the music performance art, while in the understanding of music an important role belongs to modeling processes (embodied simulation), the bodily transmission of music . It is clear that this approach is particularly promising for music pedagogy, and first of all for pedagogy of music performance. This view will help the beginning performer to find the most efficient way for a better understanding of musical emotion within the content of the musical piece, and, moreover, will contribute to the development of expressive technical skills. The rapid development of photographic and marketing technology has led to the fact that today an image of every tourist destination is easily accessible for everyone. Therefore, in modern means of communication there are a number of different visual depictions of each single photographed space. Majority of those images represent ?photogenic? and groomed spaces, while undesirable sights are missing, for the sake of commercial tourist market demand. In a form of an experimental research, photos containing slum images and other realistic representations of popular tourist destinations were selected and displayed to respondents, followed by questions related to their subjective opinions, emotions and intentions to visit or know more about. The aim of this paper is to contribute to tourism and anthropological research by pointing out that representing a destination as a commodity may harm the overall tourist impressions, unless we consider a non-commercial photography as a potential medium to promote a tourist destination in a more realistic way, and thus inspire the desire for traveling in order to meet local culture and experience a real ?spirit? of a destination. Wisdom is a concept mentioned often throughout life but rarely do we have any inclination of what it is, where it comes from, or how to improve our own. In order to further understand what wisdom is and the role it plays in human society a more detailed exploration of what constitutes wisdom is necessary. Wisdom changes as we age, and a more careful examination of how the change occurs over time is required. Wisdom is often elusive and though to be absolute or rigid but research into Eastern and Western perspectives of wisdom, brain plasticity, personal human development, and human culture have revealed wisdom to be thoughtful, evolving, relative, and contextual. This paper aims to unearth and classify four elements composing wisdom, discuss the two major types of wisdom, and illustrate how the arts and humanities increase the quality of wisdom a culture produces. Frankweiler Abstract: The Robinsonade is a popular genre for adventure books aimed at boy readers. Seth Lerer states that this genre is "not just about adaptation or imitation. It is about completion" (2009, p. 145). The 1967 novel From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler captures the spirit of the Robinsonade tradition, but also adds to the genre by capturing a mostly girl readership by using a girl as a main character and making the all important deserted island the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. E.L. Konigsburg explores the traditions and tropes set by Daniel Defoe and other Robinsonade writers as she creates an engaging story that appeals to both girls and boys.
