The extant marketing literature has focused on the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) concept but less emphasis has given to understand the behavioral intentions and perceptions of consumers towards socially responsible products/services. Moreover, past research within the literature mostly are done in developed countries such as US and UK while limited analysis are done in emerging country context. In the study, the instrument developed by Maignan (2001) is used to measure the readiness of consumers to support socially responsible products. Data collected from 463 respondents indicate that Turkish consumers have favorable intention to support socially responsible products. Another valuable finding is that although gender has significant influence over socially responsible behavior, age and education are not significant indicators. The findings support the results of recent studies that the demographics are not strong enough alone to profile the socially responsible consumers and segment the market for CSR initiatives. CLASS NURS?NG STUDENTS Abstract: Aim: This study was conducted to determine first and fourth- year nursing students? tendency to social stigmatization. It is thought that if health care professionals have positive and similar attitudes towards the societies they live in, they can positively change the public?s attitudes towards the individuals or groups in that society. Of the health care professionals, nurses play an important role in changing the attitudes of the society. They are responsible for protecting and developing the mental health of society, within the psychiatry team. Therefore, it is important to identify future nurses? stigmatization tendency and evaluate the effect of undergraduate education on this tendency. Methods: This descriptive study was conducted with the participation of the first-year (n=157) and fourth-year (n=121) nursing who studied in the department of nursing in a faculty of health sciences at a university during the 2015?2016 academic year and agreed to participate in the study. The data were collected using an information form developed by the researcher and the Stigmatization Scale. The data were evaluated using numbers and percentages, the independent samples were statistically analyzed using the t-test, and all findings were taken as significant at ?p<0.05?.Results: The mean age of the first-year students was 18.28±0.65, and the mean age of the fourth-year students was 21.58±1.05. In both groups, the mean score of students? tendency to stigmatize was found to be over a medium level (critical score was 55 or higher) or at a similar level. Their mean score on the labeling, psychological health and prejudice sub-scales was also higher and at a similar level. Although the mean score on the exclusion sub-scale was lower in both groups, the fourth-year students? mean score was higher. Conclusion: Although the mean score of students? tendency to stigmatize was over a medium level in both groups, it is remarkable that the mean score of the fourth-year students was higher than that of the first-year students. This study revealed the need to evaluate the undergraduate education which was given to raise public awareness of and provide information on social stigmatization considering the fact that both groups had similar sociodemographic characteristics. To reduce social stigmatization and raise public awareness, theoretical and practical consideration should be given to this issue in nursing education, and similar education should also be provided after the undergraduate education. In this paper, we present a literature review of the impact that business simulations have in developing decision-making skills, integrative, experiential learning, and team work skills. Building on the generative learning theory, experiential learning theory and bloom?s taxonomy, we tested the simulation Country Manager with a number of students divided in 4 groups. The objective was to obtain feedback of the applicability and benefit of using this software to teach decision-making in international business courses. Results showed Country Manager being applicable to senior level or capstone international business strategy courses and appropriate as an experiential learning tool. However, a series of difficulties and software inflexibilities were noted. We found supporting evidence for implementing a simulation into the international business curricula to represent an experiential learning prong, even if Country Manager was not the most pertinent match. Despite this, by considering weakness of workers against employer espeecially in working life, the idea that workers should be protected has been accepted and exceptions to the principle of freedom of contract has been introduced. For this reason, workers have been tried to be protectedagainst termination. If it is necessary to describe it briefly, if employer doesn?t dismiss worker arbitrarily, this means protection of worker against termination. Protection of workers against termination is among main objectives and issues of labor law.Union reasons are one of the reasons for employers to dismiss workers. In working life, dismissal of workers because of membership in union or union activities means ?Termination due to union reasons?, protection of workers against these dismissals means ?Protection of workers against termination due to union reasons?. Protection of workers against termination due to union reasons is the result of union freedom given to workers. As a result of giving this freedom to workers, employment contract of the worker can?t be terminated due to union; in case of termination due to this reason, legal remedies are provided such as returning to work. To do so, a questionnaire was built, tested and distributed to a sample of 1550 Palestinian consumers in three main cities. Factor as well as multiple regression techniques were then applied. Results indicate that both ethnocentrism and animosity are positively related to consumer reluctance to buy Israeli goods. Findings also suggest that product judgment negatively impacts the reluctance of Palestinian consumers to purchase Israeli products. Furthermore, results show that education is the only personal characteristics variable that affects Palestinian purchase intention. Although is the causality difficult to grasp, they are built on the basis of many scientific theories, including economic theory. Causality is very hot topic today, both in philosophy and economics. The causality is used in many multi-sectorial disciplines and the concept of causality is different in various disciplines. In economics, we encounter many assertions that connect cause and effect, but causal relationships are not clearly expressed. At first glance, there may be confusion between cause and effect and the phenomena studied can then be viewed in terms of causality and vice versa. The causality plays very important role in econometric and economics. The paper focused on using of causality in economics and econometric studies. The paper begins with a brief overview of theoretical definition of the causality. Then, the empirical approaches to causality in economics and econometric and selected tools of causality are presented and discussed and the case study of possible using of Granger Causality Test is shown. At the end of the paper we discuss the significance of the Grander Causality Test in economics. The aims of this paper are following: to define the different approaches to causality and describe a short history of this term, to analyse selected econometric methods in interaction with causality and to show on the example of Granger Causality Test using of causality in empirical analysis in economics. FOOD-RELATED DECISION MAKING STYLES ON NATIONAL BRAND vs. STORE BRAND CHOICE Abstract: It is important for marketers to understand the individuals? buying decisions in a competitive environment. The concept of decision making style is one of the key determinants of consumers? behavioral patterns. This study aims to explore the effects of consumers? decision making styles on buying national and store branded food products. To examine consumer decision making styles, Sproles and Kendall?s (1986) The Consumer Style Inventory (CSI) is adopted in the study. The framework of this study is based on eight consumer decision making style, expected to shape consumers? national and store brand choice on food products. The empirical analysis is based on data obtained from consumers living in K?r?ehir, a city in Turkey. Questionnaires was handed over to 500 customer of retail stores both selling national and their own brands. Firstly, exploratory factor analysis is used to confirm the model, then multiple regression analysis is used to test the hypothesis and to compare consumer?s national and store brand choice, in the context of their decision making styles. The study is expected to help retailers develop suitable strategies for national and store branded food products. In fact it is important to develop a certain and an accurate understanding of consumers? decision making styles for successful marketing and advertising strategies. Besides, different marketing strategies for both national and store branded food products can be tailored to the characteristics of consumers. Uncontrolled moral hazard in management may result some typical forms of behaviours like excessive perquisite consumption, non-optimal investment decision, inefficient use of assets and discretionary expenditures. Their effects have a potential to destruct firm?s financial performance and the shareholder?s wealth. Several studies revealed the measurement of this managerial moral hazard behaviour by using accounting-based performance ratios. In this study, firms? discretionary expenditures have been used as a proxy for managerial behaviour related to moral hazard. This problem can be more severe as a result of the bribery implications of firms and corruption issues. Taking all this account, this paper attempts to investigate the nexus between firms? discretionary expenditures and corruption giving industry level perspectives from emerging markets and identifies the sectors that are most affected. The dataset constitutes 466 non-financial firms operating in four large emerging countries BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China) and Turkey covering the 10 year time span from 2005-2014. Results reveal that all industries in the sample countries with a high control of corruption tend to face less moral hazard related behaviour taking into account industrial differences. However, considering industrial breakdown reveal interesting findings. For some industries an upward sloping relationship has been seen between the control of corruption and the proxy for moral hazard related behavior, which indicates that the higher the level of corruption control, the higher moral hazard. Roses??.To ?Coffins Full of Roses?: Impact of Exposure to Terrorism on Students? Outcome Abstract: We examined the impact of exposure to terrorism on students? outcome (i-e anxiety and learning ability of students). Data was collected from the sample (N=182) of students from various universities of twin cities of Pakistan in order to get the better findings and to support our hypothesis. The results revealed that the exposure to terrorism has positive and significant relation with students? anxiety but positive and insignificant relation with students? learning ability. Those students who personally experienced exposure to terrorism were more inclined towards anxiety than those who just listened to the news or heard from some other medium. Particularly, those students who were physically present on the place of incident were more likely to be stressed, uncertain and scared. Similarly, the findings indicate that there is a positive but insignificant relation between exposure to terrorism and students? learning ability. It means that higher the exposure to terrorism, higher will be the students? learning ability. In other words, students who are directly exposed to terrorism are more motivated towards learning. Using various panel regression models, including a dynamic panel model for a sample of non-financial firms listed at Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) for period 2005 to 2012, we find that current and previous year accounting performance has positive influence on CEO compensation. However, stock market performance does not appear to have a positive influence on CEO compensation. We further find that firm size is an important factor contributing towards CEO compensation. Ownership concentration is positively correlated with CEO compensation, indicating some kind of collusion between management and largest shareholder to get personal benefits. CEO duality appears to have a negative relationship with CEO compensation. Board size and board independence have no convincing relationship with CEO compensation, indicating board ineffectiveness in reducing CEO entrenchment. The results of dynamic panel model suggest that CEO pay is highly persistent and takes time to adjust to long-run equilibrium. Our study has implications not only for managers but also for regulators and other stakeholders.
