The purpose of the research is to review the initiatives of World Customs Organization, as SAFE Framework and the Accredited Operator concept, which is being supported by a number of regulatory agencies in the form of Authorized Economic Operator, which have emerged as a result of international initiatives relating to supply chain security. SAFE Framework is an instrument heralding the beginning of a new approach to the management of goods moving across borders and presents the criterion by which businesses in the supply chain can obtain authorized status as a security partner. Such criteria address issues such as threat assessment, a security plan adapted to the assessed threats and procedural measures to prevent irregular goods entering the international supply chain. This paper presents the current state of supply chain security management initiatives in the European Union and discusses their managerial implications, including the importance of interplay between various parties to support the fluent and secure flow of goods in the global economy. Self-employment is very important for the employment of individuals, especially if there aren?t other employment opportunities due to the reduction of jobs, due to the lack of specialization or specific education. One of the most sensitive social problems of recent decades in Albania is high levels of emigration due to the unemployment and all measures that can be taken to increase the employment in the country are crucial. The country's economic growth is a direct factor that influences the opening of new enterprises or even the expansion of current enterprises, thus increasing employment. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the impact of self-employment on employment. To achieve this purpose, is studied the relation between self-employment, economic growth and exports with the level of employment. The relation between employment as a dependent variable and self-employed people, GDP growth rate and export as independent variables is studied through a linear model. After the analysis using the least squares method, in this paper it is concluded that the self-employed have a significant positive relationship with the level of employment in the country. The private security industry is regulated by a Law for private security from 2012, complemented in 2013, 2015 and 2016, which among other, prescribes the conditions for private security activities, the authorizations of the private security personnel, the regulatory governmental body responsible for issuing licenses, oversight, etc. The private security industry in the Republic of North Macedonia proved to be quite a profitable business, at least viewed from the perspectives of financial profit and the financial statements of the currently most famous companies such as Nikob Security, Perpetuum Mobile and Security Services Group (SGS). The private security industry in this paper is perceived and elaborated as a supplement of the security sector in provision of security on one side, and as a profitable activity contributing to the budget and providing employment on the other. The methodology applied in this paper consists of qualitative data analysis of the legal aspects designating this social activity and the quantitative values deriving from the available statistical data depicting the income generated by the private security industry in the Republic of North Macedonia. As tourism is prone to various external factors that are out of state control (clearly visible in the current coronavirus pandemic), along with its growing share in Croatia, the question of Dutch disease arises. The Dutch disease phenomenon refers to the state where one booming sector (e.g. natural resources, which are impersonated by tourism in this case) causes adverse effects on other sectors (e.g. manufacturing sector, industry) which finally leads to the decline in the economy's international competitiveness and deindustrialization. A core model of Dutch disease explains that a large inflow of foreign money will appreciate real exchange rate and cause both the spending and reallocation of resources between non-tradable and tradable sectors thus causing deindustrialization. The aim of this paper is to investigate whether the increasing tourism sector in Croatia has caused resource movement from other sectors towards the tourism sector which would confirm the presence of Dutch disease. Based on Croatian data in period 1995-2019 we conclude that (i) Croatia is highly specialized in tourism with (ii) tourism being a more important growth factor than industry and (iii) a highly important export category; also, (iv) there is a positive relationship between the tourism revenues growth and a number of employees in the tradable sector, and negative between the tourism revenues growth and a number of employees in the non-tradable sector; finally (v) the growth of tourism revenues did not lead to an appreciation of the real effective exchange rate. We conclude that Croatia is not sick with the Dutch disease but if the rapid growth of the tourism sector in Croatia continues, there could be negative effects of the Dutch disease in the future. Besides financial benefit in the form of raising capital, IPOs also play a role in an increased public awareness of the company. By proving the comprehensive evaluation of reasons and consequences of IPO initiatives in Croatia we give analytic evidence on the influence of this corporate action on development of corporate governance. Furthermore, the paper discusses relation between internal and external corporate governance mechanisms in companies that initialize entering the financial markets for the first time, providing us with the analytical framework of understanding the impact on IPOs on corporate governance system in transition countries. The empirical research determined that the degree of underpricing is dynamic and various markets forces interact simultaneously in observing the variation in pricing the new equity issues. By covering the twelve-year period, this paper gives analytical evidence of underpricing of initial public offerings in Croatia. By identified determinants of IPO underpricing, which are explained with the help of agency theory, signaling and behavioral theories, the paper points out to the significance of regulatory framework in this corporate governance segment. According to the analysis, the resulting average value of the negative slope of the PC for the whole observed period in the Czech Republic is -0.19 and in Poland -0.09, which in both countries indicates a very weak intensity of substitutability of the household consumption deflator by unemployment. The resulting long-term NAIRU for the entire period we are monitoring was 6.70% in the Czech Republic and 12.50% in Poland. NAIRU values are affected by unemployment benefits, in the Czech Republic also by the growth of the minimum wage and in Poland by the growth of import prices, including the growth of oil prices. Research also shows expected inflation in both countries. A lot of legal changes have been made in the Republic of Croatia relating to budget planning and defining the sources of financing of cities, moreover, the Personal Income Tax Act has been amended six times in the period from 2014 to 2019, and the Act on the Financing of Local and Regional Self-Government Units has been amended several times, with a new law on local taxes being introduced in 2018. The reasons for numerous legal changes are twofold and partially stem from the adjustment to the relief of the Croatian economy, and partially from the state's efforts to further relieve the tax burden on labour and income taxation. These changes reflected on, and significantly affected, the fiscal capacity of the revenues of large cities. Recommendations are aimed at greater fiscal autonomy of large cities and are aimed at further implementation of fiscal decentralization, especially in the area related to tax revenues. In addition, forecasts of correlation dynamics allow for a better evaluation of the systemic risk and may give an initial signal about potential crises (Engle (2009)).This paper aims to evaluate daily correlation forecasts. For the calculation of the correlation forecasts, the BEKK model of Engle and Kroner (1995) and the DCC model of Engle (2002) are applied. Since there is no clear suggestion regarding the sampling scheme to estimate the realized correlations from intraday data (Andersen et al. (2006)), several experimental schemes with different sampling intervals are examined. Following Komunjer and Owyang (2012), a multivariate loss function which may be asymmetric is used to measure the distance between model correlation forecasts and realized correlations. The data sample contains intraday high-frequency and closing prices of the three major US indices: S&P 500, NASDAQ 100 and Russell 2000. Based on the results obtained so far, the following conclusions can be drawn: (i) Both models better predict correlations for the pair S&P 500 and NASDAQ 100 than for Russell 2000 and other two indices. (ii) The DCC model performs better than the BEKK model applying the symmetric loss function. (iii) On the basis of the correlation pairs between the Russell 2000 index and other two indices, the optimal degrees of asymmetry are negative for the BEKK forecast errors and positive for the DCC forecast errors in most cases. (iv) The degrees of asymmetry depend on the choice of sampling schemes for calculating the realized correlations. (v) Both models are unable to capture the sudden decrease of correlations during the crisis period. Russia is known for its comparative advantage in natural resources and for its intentions to diversify the economy. Indeed, specialization in natural resources is not associated with sustainable economic growth. We analyze Russia?s specialization in trade over the period 2009-2018 including the year 2014 when economic and financial sanctions were introduced. We follow the dynamics of Russia?s comparative advantages in different categories of goods in trade with all world countries, BRICS countries and Eurasian Economic Union over these years. Our aim is to shed more light on the current specialization of Russia in order to understand the possibilities of diversifying the economy. We analyze short term consequences of difficulties in international relations that Russia faces, and provide an insight into the long run development of trade. We conclude that Russia currently has a prevailing comparative advantage in material-intensive industries and needs to develop innovations in order to diversify its economy and obtain a comparative advantage in the other categories of goods, including high-tech sector. The results can be useful for development of economic policy. Residential property prices are generally very important indicator as they may indicate developments in the local economy. Moreover, many existing research have proven that there is a strong interdependence of the movement of housing prices with economic developments. Therefore, different market participants (home owners, potential buyers, lessors, tenants etc.), as well as subjects from broader economic environment (banks, local government, researchers etc.) are interested in trends on housing market, and in particular in housing prices. For that reason, constant improvement of housing prices statistics is very important for all mentioned entities. In Croatia, the issue of housing prices has become topical in the last 15 years due to the turbulent developments in the domestic housing market. Generally, the indicator which is most available to the general public is average price which is published by real estate agencies and advertisers. Such indicator fails to reflect real prices movements since it encompasses the difference in quality of the offered/sold housing units on the market. The more reliable indicator would be one that is ?cleared? form the impact that qualitative characteristics of the housing unit have on its price. The most commonly used method for constructing such price indicators is hedonic approach. Hedonic indices provide information about real change in the price between two points of time. The methodology of calculation hedonic housing price index in Croatia has advanced significantly over the last 12 years. In this research we use hedonic model approach to calculate the index of dwelling prices for Croatia, as well as for four regions (The City of Zagreb, Middle and South Adriatic, Istria and North Adriatic and the region Other). The variables which are included in the model are price of the dwelling, location, floor area, number of rooms, the construction year and time of sale. Two different indices based on asked and realized prices are calculated within this research. The comparison between calculated indices shows that there are large price differences between geographically different Croatian dwelling markets.Acknowledgment: This work has been supported by the Croatian Science Foundation under the project no. 6785. The aim of this paper is to identify individual, financial, and other factors that influence retirees to work beyond retirement in Lithuania. This research was done using unique administrative Lithuanian data, allowing to analyze post-retirement employment in Lithuania for the first time. The sample consists of 26,000 new old-age pension recipients from 2015 to 2017. By applying binary models of the probability of being employed beyond retirement, it is found out that a greater acquired retirement record, a higher average wage before retirement, and living in a bigger city with a higher employment rate were positively associated with accepting bridge employment, while a higher sickness rate, higher old-age pension, and earlier receipt of an unemployment benefit were inversely related to accepting such employment. Moreover, being a professional or manager increases the likelihood of bridge employment in comparison to unskilled workers. This probability increases even more if a person works in the public sector. Finally, some social groups were excluded, finding that widows with disabilities or widowed women with worse health are not likely to work beyond retirement and are consequently under a bigger risk of poverty.
