Using the concepts of Kaplan and Norton, and the data made available from the bank, a BSC was derived to measure the performance of the bank between 2007-2010. The analysis assisted the cause-effect relationships between the non-financial, and the financial dimensions of the BSC. Due to lack of research work, in this area, in the banking sector in Libya, this study shall contribute to the knowledge on how banks in Libya may apply the BSC to evaluate their performance, and how they might turn strategic vision into potential performance. The author proposed some future research needs required in this area. The use of the BSC developed here is limited to the bank studied; however, the approach could trigger off reflections among policy makers and other banks to start using the BSC. For long, international business research has analysed the effects of distance on MNEs? expansion to host-countries, while a parallel strand of work in economic geography investigates the dimensions of proximity and how they influence firms? knowledge development, especially in the varying host-countries they operate. Despite the noticeable complementarities and relatedness, these two bodies of literature have so far poorly interacted. Moreover, inspite of increased strategic motivation for CSR, we still lack understanding of the effects of distance on MNEs? CSR behaviour in host-countries. This paper addresses this limitation and analyses and integrates extant literature on how MNEs can, through their CSR behaviour in host-countries, cope with and mitigate the effects of distance. It provides perspectives on what may constitute appropriate CSR strategies in varying host-countries? institutional environments (i.e., what CSR strategies might be appropriate for firms to adopt in a more proximate/less distant and less proximate/more distant institutional contexts and their implications for the effects of distance) are analysed. Based on the analysis of the literature, the present study discusses patterns of complementarities across distance and proximity, and draws attention to avenues for future research that interact the two strands of literature, thereby setting the ground for empirical testing of a conceptual framework proposed by this paper. The study tries to assess the perception of customers about the performance of major-e-commerce sites on those attributes. Eighteen potential attributes are preliminarily selected, and after conducting a pre-test on 50 sample respondents eleven salient attributes are selected for the study. Finally 108 respondents are taken as the study sample. Mertin Fishbein?s multi-attribute attitude models adopted to measure the customers? attitude. Respondents were asked their belief and evaluation towards some B2C ecommerce sites. The benchmark of positive belief is hypothesized as 4 in a 5 point scale. The significance of the difference between observed mean of customers? belief and the predetermined benchmark is measured by left tailed Z statistic. It is found that the sample respondents believe that the performance of the B2C e-commerce sites in Bangladesh is up to the benchmark in teams of only two attributes among the eleven. The findings of this study may be used by the existing B2C e-commerce companies as well as by the future e-commerce entrepreneurs in Bangladesh to establish a quality and customer driven B2C e-commerce industry. Even the customers will be benefitting if the industry considers the findings of the study. We present the different types of agricultural insurances and analyze the structure of crop insurance market in Hungary. The weather risks (example hail, drought, frost etc.) are the most significant uncertainty for agriculture enterprises. These risks are managed with agriculture insurance by the companies. Because of a high fee of insurance the enterprises insure themselves only for hail generally. In order to reduce the cost of insurance, Hungarian Government uses the establishment of a solidarity fund system and also the supporting system of insurance payment ex-post ? in accordance with Common Agricultural Policy. Based on the rate of the aid there are 4 types of crop insurances on the market (the maximum level of this subsidy is 65 % of the insurance fee).We analyze in this study the market share of Hungarian agriculture insurance with the main focus on the subsidized insurance market.
