Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, Faculty of Mass Media Communication Title: The influence of selected factors on the effectiveness of print media advertising Abstract: Advertising effectiveness and efficiency are one of the basic criteria which affect the selection of the particular type of media to be used. Both criteria are closely related, although they both speak of different objectives. The research into efficiency of advertising focuses on its communication effect, whereas the research into effectiveness focuses on its ability to fulfil economic objectives. Therein lies the biggest difference between effectiveness, i.e. the ability to remember the advertising message and efficiency, i.e. the influence on the buying behaviour of consumers. However, advertising must be efficient in order to be effective. The authors of this paper direct their attention to effectiveness of advertising in print media. In doing so, they analyse the ability to recall advertising in magazines and the factors which influence this ability. They compare the effect of the size and position of advertising, the reasons for recall and they also focus on the influence of buying intention and the stage of the buying process on advertising effectiveness. As a part of the survey, there is also a comparison of the influence of particular types of media on selecting or buying products and services and their role in the buying behaviour of the respondents. The survey involved 30 respondents, who had 12 magazines and 286 advertisements at their disposal. Classification-JEL: D12, M30 Keywords: Magazines. Advertising. Print media. Effectiveness. Convenience sampling was used and data were obtained from a sample of 369 employees from various municipalities. The results show that there is a negative relationship between workplace ostracism and work engagement. Moreover, neuroticism moderates the negative relationship between workplace ostracism and work engagement. Overall, the results show that work engagement decreases as workplace ostracism increases, and highly neurotic employees are more negatively affected by workplace ostracism. Local governments may utilize the results in their efforts to create an environment fostering work engagement. Leaders may apply the study outcomes about the role of employee personality and workplace ostracism to improve their service performance. Adaptability is the capability to understand and make necessary adjustments to fit with the environment by making requisite internal changes and responding to and acting in the environment. Coping is the internal processes which help determine how the organization maintains its sense of identity and wholeness in view of the externally and internally induced changes. As the environment becomes more diverse, differentiated and complex, the dynamic changing environment creates conditions for some organizations with the right internal resources and capabilities to survive and prosper while others with less coping abilities (copabilities) may stagnate, become obsolete or lose their sense of wholeness and identity. The will to succeed is a key factor in creating and maintaining a robust balance of adapting and coping forces for building and maintaining a well performing resilient social system. The article explores three key factors underlying resilience; adaptability, copability, and the will to succeed, The article proposes that resilience is a determinant component of social systems effectiveness, survival and revitalization. A theoretical review and empirical evidence. Abstract: The aim of the present report is to review the available literature on how does the mandatory reporting frequency affects the binomial relationship between the performance and the short-term concerns of the firms as well as to show empirical evidence on the same subject. For this, we used a sample of 2722 firms from a heterogeneous international environment. After running the analysis, we find he a higher reporting frequency negatively impacts the results of firms. There seems to be a short-termism concern leading to a performance decrease. Also, there are few approaches to try to deal with this issue within the literature. The independent variables used in the gravity model are GDP per capita, distance, Unit price, exchange rates, wine production.Findings-the GDP per capita and the common membership of two countries influence positively the wine trade flows. The Unit price, the distance, the isolation and the dominant religion influence negatively the wine trade flows. The wine production and the exchange rates have low influence and they are not statistically significant.Practical implications-the article is useful for importers and exporters because it highlights which variables of a country could influence the wine trade flows.Originality/Value-the application of the gravity model on Romanian wine trade flows. The main generalization is to allow all the time-independent parameters in Zhang?s model to be time-dependent. The generalization makes it possible to take any exogenous changes in any parameter at any time into account. The model is constructed in a dynamic general equilibrium framework with heterogeneous households and progressive income taxation. We simulate the model to demonstrate existence of equilibrium and motion of the dynamic system. We demonstrate how business cycles appear in the economic system when it is confronted with different exogenous periodic perturbations.
