11th Business & Management Conference, Dubai

Conference Tour to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the Spice Market

Free for conference participants.

The aim of our conference tour is to provide opportunity for informal networking, possibly creating partnership among the conference participants.

Friday, January 17

The bus leaves at 9.00 from the conference venue.

First we will go to the Sheikh Zayed  Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, where we will have a guided tour at 11.30.

The Grand Mosque was constructed between 1996 and 2007. The building complex covers an area of more than 12 hectares. The project was launched by the late president of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who wanted to establish a structure that would unite the cultural diversity of the Islamic world with the historical and modern values of architecture and art. His final resting place is located on the grounds of the Mosque. The Mosque is large enough to accommodate over 40,000 worshippers. The carpet in the main prayer hall is  probably the world's largest carpet measuring 5,627 m2. The weight of this carpet is 35 ton and is predominantly made from wool originating from New Zealand and Iran.

After visiting the Grand Mosque will will go with the same bus to the Spice market. Everyone can explore the market individually. At 17.00 our bus will bring us back to the university campus.

Lunch and entrance fees are not included.

We will be back at about 18.00. The time of return is approximate and cannot be guaranteed.

Participants who registered for this conference tour will receive a tour voucher at the registration desk.

Children under six years are not allowed on the tour.
