Abstract:

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the lives of billions of people around the world in many ways. This study aims to examine how the lockdowns implemented around the world have affected employees working from their homes as well as revealing if there has been any change in the level of trust between managers and their employees. Qualitative research was conducted with 60 Australian public sector employees through the use of structured interviews to estimate if the COVID-19 pandemic has affected them, finding that teamwork and individual learning outcomes were altered. This research develops the body of knowledge surrounding the mechanisms used to cope with the changes the pandemic caused as well as the effects on employee productivity.
