Abstract:

The concept of immigration is not the one which is in the lime light recently. Much before this concept of immigration was even there in existence, people travelled from place to place in search for a better livelihood, and a hope to prosper socially and economically in life. But the reasons and consequences of migration today are much different and have been affecting and influencing many countries and economies in recent times. Immigration today, especially into European countries, has come to existence mainly due to the economic as well as political instability, war and humanitarian crisis in the Middle Eastern countries as a result of which the European countries have been directly affected. Because of large scale immigration, the public and political parties in Europe are protesting against the immigrants and even criticizing their own government for accommodating more and more immigrants. The Governments of Europe are also critically Evaluating their immigration policies. This paper tries to meticulously study the reasons for migration and its effect in the local job scenario, the changes in the policies and political atmosphere of countries as well as the overall impact of migration and changes in political stances on economic condition of the country.
