Abstract:
The aim of this study is to understand and determine the factors situations that may occur in the workplace affecting job satisfaction. In particular, the experiences of the employees at the workplace (quantitative workload and interpersonal conflict) and their emotional abilities are considered as reasons. The study group consisted of 199 employees. The length of employment in the workplace at the time of the study was with a range of 2-26 years. According to the results obtained, these four variables have a statistically significant effect in explaining job satisfaction. 30% of the variance of job satisfaction is explained by these variables. Results show that the workplace experiences and the emotional ability of the people are effective on job satisfaction. Empathy and self-esteem positively affected job satisfaction, however, conflict and workload negatively affected. The most important variable explaining job satisfaction had found empathy. As a result of this study, empathy, self-esteem, quantitative workload and interpersonal conflict were identified as important variables to increase job satisfaction.
