STUDYING OF THE EFFECT OF USING COMPUTER SOFTWARE TO IMPROVE THE LANGUAGE SKILLS OF DEAF STUDENTS

Abstract:

Introduction & Aim: Language is absolutely central to learning: without it, we cannot make sense or communicate understanding of a subject. We will need to develop language skills, and specifically, academic English, in order to communicate information, ideas and arguments effectively, using a style and language appropriate to subject, purpose and audience. The aim of this study was the effect of using computer software to improve the four language skills of deaf students in primary school in Babol. Method: 176 deaf students with using stratified random sampling were selected. The quasi-experimental research with pre-test and post test design and with homogeneous control group was used and a computer software plan was applied for deaf students by consult of the teachers. Data were analyzed with T and ANOVA tests. Results: Findings showed that using computer software as an individualized instrument was effective in strengthening the language skills of deaf students. Conclusion: Undoubtedly providing the educational concepts with helping visual software is effective in increasing attention and strengthening the looking at skills, viewing modes and movements and lip reading and understanding the words better and making relationship between the spoken and written language and Practicing and repeating of phrases and sentences in group and also in improving their speaking.
