IMPACT OF INDUCTION TRAINING PROGRAMMES ON PERFORMANCE OF TECHNICAL INSTITUTIONS IN INDIA

Abstract:

Induction training of technical teachers is designed and implemented by National Institute of Technical Teachers' Training and Research (NITTTR) Bhopal. It has been offering such programmes for last 50 years with modified versions as per need of the time. Recently the institute has implemented outcome based training of teachers which is designed, implemented and evaluated on the philosophy of outcome based education. More than 15 outcomes are achieved by the trainee teachers in duration of four weeks. The trainers are trained in designing and implementing outcome based training. The complete programme is designed and implemented participatively using activity/ task/ assignment based approach. The training approaches are collaborative, cooperative and blended. The evidences of achievement of outcomes are created by trainees through learning portfolio and end of the programme test. The impact of these training programmes is assessed on individual performance and institutional performance. The results are encouraging and the model may be adapted by different training systems of the world.
